We have been deprived of abundant decent ones since UTP. 'tis a shame that Tori's only had 2 UK singles released in the past 5 years. They used to be such an abundant (wow that seems to be the word for this e-mail) source for bees. Well when they were 'allowed' to put a whole 3 b-sides on each one. Well you almost sound as bad as I. Being the alphabet-fetishist that I am, I am pleased to see that Tori has included a track beginning with the letter "V" on this album - "Virginia". That 'only' leaves the letters K, Q, X and Z that she does not have recorded song titles for. DAMN her for not getting Zero Point out!! Interesting. It takes me about 30-35 minutes to get to work in the morning, and I usually spend that time listening to my CD Walkman (no, not Discman, it says "CD Walkman"). When I listen to BfP, I always listen to tracks 1-7 ... and then I kinda skip around a bit. I will sometimes listed to Muhammad (I really like that song), and then usually skip to Little Amsterdam (which is amazing) and then most times Talula (even though I prefer the Tornado incarnation). From there, it's either Doughnut Song or ITSOHV, depending on how the mood strikes me. But 1-7 are the only ones that are "must listens". So I sorta see where you're coming from. Still, I love all the songs (and the ones I find sluggish on the album, I usually love live -- like Damage). The only two songs that don't float my boat are Way Down (I like the idea of the gospel choir, but it worked so much better in Beulah Land) and Twinkle (which must die for taking Cooling's place as the album closer -- which would have kicked ass). Okay, shutting up now. Jules - --------------------------------- Yahoo! Nothing annoys me > more than that song. I really like the sentiment/meaning behind Little Amsterdam, and think the lyrics are clever. But to listen to as a song... where are fingernails down a chalkboard when you need them?! > > and then most times Talula (even though I prefer > the > > Tornado incarnation). > > Eh, I'm indifferent about it. Either version of Talula is a bit "WTF? Did your quality control people go on strike that day Tori"? I like the rhythm of the verses & some of the lyrics.. but as a complete package... Let's just say - wouldn't be a pity if it had to be destroyed due to an anthrax scare at the mail-sorting centre :) > > From there, it's either Doughnut Song or > > ITSOHV, depending on how the mood strikes me. > > I'm starting to hate ITSOHV too. I kinda like it. But it's a bit like.. Tori sang through her twat that day. > And those mixes of > it are even worse. > Why would you ruin an already crap song? Yeah those mixes (and 99% of Tori's released mixes) are a tad questionable.' > > The only two songs > > that don't float my boat are Way Down > > No, way. Way Down is one of the best tracks on that > whole album! Yes me love Way Down too! > > Twinkle (which must die for taking Cooling's place > as the album > > closer -- which would have kicked ass). > > I think I'm gonna kick your ass for dissing some of > the best tracks on > BFP (atleast you didn't touch CALS or NTRB) NTRB is nice but sounds like the perfect soundtrack to a lazy, hungover Sunday afternoon nap. > Twinkle is beautiful. So, supposedly, are the people in New Weekly or whatever-trashy-mag's 100 Most Beautiful People. I think BFP has a lot to answer for, in that it seemed to draw in Tori's most annoying fan-base. And it yielded the first tour where she snubbed Australia.
