Hmmmm The 29th is the US. They have new releases there on Tuesday, for some unbeknown stupid reason... much like driving on the wrong side of the road there, and stupidly putting the month first in abbreviated dates, ie 8/25/02. I really doubt SW would get a Friday release here, as it would 'violate' chart compiling rules - in that it would only get 2 days' worth of sales then before getting it's debut placing in the albums chart - in which case it is likely to chart a lot lower on debut than it would if it had a full 7 days' worth of sales. It could be just an online thing: maybe they get the copies early for people who bought it on the internet, so they can dispatch it on the Friday and have it arrive early the next week. I tell you, I'd be pretty annoyed if I pre-ordered something from them over two months in advance only to have it arrive late in the week after the release date. The last time I pre-ordered was with CDNOW for Choirgirl: what a blunder... ordered it from the US cos I was told the Aus version would be released a good time after. They did say, though, that they would ship it a good few days before the release date and by all accounts they did. But like Nayth said, wouldn't THAT have caused a "violation" of the charts? Maybe they post-date the sale or something.
