On one of the occasions when greymatter turned up its toes for a few days before I had time to fix0r it, I considered moving over to livejournal. Got myself a code, and an account, and a seriously bad case of can't-do-anything-with-these-awful-templates, before deciding I'd be happier spending ten hours completely reinstalling my existing program if need be. Does anyone know any nice picnic places in sydney? The reasoning was - its more flexible than "We'll meet you here to do this", we can just say "oh we'll be there from 11am" or whatever and people can arrive. Also it will save on the $$ (Kate's and my big thing at the moment LOL). A big communal meal kinda thing, with a few bottles of wine or something. Bring a salad or some sandwiches or bread rolls and such. Then just see what happens. What do people all think? A picnic one Sunday afternoon (or Saturday, I just personally prefer Sunday)? Also - Kate, Will and whoever else is wanting to come to the UK. I got some brochures yesterday. Wow, so many choices. We need to plan. I'll get some more today. Hurrah for travel agencies on campus! Hurrah for student rates! Hurrah for hurrah! Yeah put they've put Futurama on indefinate HOLD. WHICH REALLY REALLY SUCKS - - cause in that hold period all the people who worked on the show go onto other things and there might not be any more Futurama which sucks SOOOOO much. D> xo D> dan that's predominantly the mixing. mastering is the process of "fine tuning" a given recording.. smoothing off the rough edges, as it were. it's a process in which they (hugely expensive mastering engineers) use stupidly expensive and incredibly precise equipment to adjust things like overall eq and compression, maybe a touch here and there with other bits of gear, and then they finalise it on to appropriate media with all of the appopriate 'pq' sub-codes for making cd's :) zac ================================================== zac ariel - web junkie m: 0414 229 299 e: zac@comcen.com.au w: www.level21.net ================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Aug 2002 20:37:55 -0700 (PDT) From: "Too Much" <2much@elvis.com> Subject: Re: [oztori] livejournal On Tue, 20 August 2002, "Kate Findlay" wrote: > > hey > > how the hell do i join the oztori livejournal > community??? > > curious... Album is about taking journey from West to East US, starting in LA. Usual faery shit from radio interview: TA: "Wait a minute, the thing about the fairy BS, is have you been to Ireland and started dissing the fairies because they will kick your behind." Some things never change... Apparently with SW there will be a code thing you can use with it to access 'b-sides' on the net: K: Well, if you put it that way, I am on board with the fairies BS. And one more thing, but were kind running out of time, tell us about the extras that are the CD, this is awesome, the maps and stuff. TA: Well, this is how it works. So when you get the CD, I kind of figured, you know you cant change technology, I mean people are doing what they do K: The cats out of the bag? TA: Yeah, so you change its function. So the CD becomes a key and then you put it into your computer and it will take you to Scarlets Web. So thats the only way you can get there. K: You cant type it in you have to have the CD. TA: No, it will be a code, that I am sure somebody will break within 8 months but Ive got 8 months and I kind of know that, but once you get to Scarlets Web there will be extra tracks which in the old days would have been B-sides but because we dont do that anymore K: Oh, theres extra songs? TA: Absolutely! And this is part of her journey too but I just decided I can only fit so many and the maps where she went come alive so you can go visit them in detail, you know, know where she went, you just dont know who she slept with or where (laugh).
