I'd love to hear Tori do a melancholic/angry piano ballad version of Diviny's "Back To The Wall"... although a straight-forward cover that stays true to the original.. not butchering it completley. > I don't Like Mondays (just finished) really nice. I say: Real Men Rattlesnakes Time After All Raining Blood (edit ;) Heart of Gold [with more musical variation] Could have been the 6 b-sides (3 on each disc) to a 2-part UK CD single set - ala the golden LE & UTP single days.... rather than an album/EP in its own right. Probably would have worked that way too. *sigh* Nathan. _______________________________________________________ Yahoo! I have a feeling it was "gold dust" (more interesting use of capitalisation, or lack thereof). Ah, here we go (from the Dent): Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 12:45AM ET More comments from Neil Gaiman about Scarlet's Walk Neil Gaiman, in a posting to his online journal, confirms the song title Gold Dust and also mentions when the songs on Scarlet's Walk were written. Tori mentioned during her Ann Powers interview last January that she had been working on her new material for years. However, the news articles we have seen so far on Scarlet's Walk state that the material was all written post-September 11. The truth is actually in the middle. Neil says a few of the songs go back a ways, while most of the songs were written post-September 11. Thanks to vampandora and Noah for telling me. Anyone know if the Women Who Rock magazine can be found in Australia? Tori will be featured in it son... Unless he was there holding Tori's hand at the time, he doesn't necessarily know for *sure* that they were/weren't written before/after. Tori probably doesn't even know herself. This is the same woman who has basically said she can't remember recording/writing 'Humpty Dumpty' or 'Ode to the Banana King (Part One)'. Just goes to show that drugs aren't good for your brains, kids. In other Tori 'news' - played 'A Sorta Fairytale' to a friend who doesn't think much of Tori... he thinks it's much better than her other 'bullshit' :P Also played it to a recent semi Tori-convert, and she agreed it was easy listening and that it lacked 'the passion' of her previous stuff except the bridge, which was 'more like her other stuff'. Although she liked the song. Nathan. _______________________________________________________ Yahoo! How do you know? Who knows what he's basing these statements on. Perhaps he heard snippets of them yonks ago but actually failed to mention it in his journal. Well that Vanessa Carlton CD single has paid itself off over and over, I'm still playing this single - well interspersed with other albums but I keep putting it back on to get my fix. An older episode - the one with Grandpa's "sex elixir" and all the adults are in bed all the time and all the kids think it's a wierd conspiracy (but that's only a lil bit of the story). Homer and Grandpa (Abraham) go to different city (Mount Seldom and Lake Flacid amongst others :)) hawking their wares. They come across their old house, where Homer grew up. They (Abe and Homer) get into an argument and Abe says that Homer was an accident and leaves Grandpa in the middle of nowhere. Homer then starts to spend more time with Bart and Lisa to make up for how his father raised him. Bart and Lisa of course don't like this, or feel uncomfortable. Bart: No offense, Homer, but your half-assed underparenting was a lot more fun than your half-assed overparenting. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Jul 2002 09:26:24 +1000 From: "Bindy ." Right now I am listening to Terami Hirsch's "All Girl Band" only because I need to refresh myself on it to write a review on it for a friend, but in my CD player I've had Genevieve Maynard's EP (which I do say everyone should go and buy because it is just brilliant. she is the best guitarist in Syndey, so if you ar ein sydney do try to go and see her, listening to her EP, or Stella One Eleven's releases, or Bughouse, or even the Falling Bodies (or anything else she's been involved with), won't give you any insight on her until you have seen her live, preferably playing with Stella (whose live shows are tremendously better than their albums, so don't use them as a guide to whether or not you should ever see them)..ummm....i think i've rambled enough about GM (who is my current weird obsession).
