While it is not likely that Tori will repent, Jesus even gave Judas an opportunity to repent before he committed suicide, and it was too late and he went to "his own place" in hell (Acts 1:25). Jesus referred to Judas as a "son of perdition" and declared that it would have been better for Judas if he had never been born (Matthew 26:24). What an eternally sad legacy it was for Judas and it will be for Tori if she refuses to repent of her sin and turn to Jesus Christ. This will be the epitaph for all those who are deceived by Tori Amos and choose to follow in Judas' footsteps and reject the one who died in payment for their sins. You have a choice, you may either accept Jesus Christ and the payment He made for you on the cross in accepting your punishment, or you may pay the punishment of damnation yourself in eternal torment in the lake of fire, a place where one's thirst is never quenched and where there is not rest day and night forever and ever. If you refuse to turn to Christ, you have no one to blame except your self. Like Led Zeppelin sang, you will groan for eternity, "It's nobodies fault but mine." Of saying, "I'm going to be reborn as this new person?" Tori Amos: Well, I think it's also correcting a serious mistake my mother made. I'm screaming from the womb, "No, Mother, Myra Ellen? That's like the worst!" I hated that name. Especially with what boys can do as nine-year-olds with the word "Myra," on the east coast. Oh, and their accents are horrible anyway. But Myra! It was just the worst. And everybody called me Ellen instead, but Eh-wen, they dropped the "ll"s? And I gotta tell you, I wanted to torch them. And so, I went through some really bad names, when I was going through my name change period. I almost became Sammi Jay. David Byrne: That's not so bad. Tori Amos: Thanks, 'cause I was watching Dallas or no, Dynasty? David Byrne: I didn't know that was one of the characters. Tori Amos: Yeah, Sammi Jay. She was Heather Locklear's character. Anyway, I was getting into the whole Sammi Jay thing and thank God one of my friend's boyfriends said, "You're a Tori," and I went, "You know what? You're right." OMG Dynasty/Dallas!?! OMG Heather Locklear!! NOOO! LOL! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 15:35:43 +1000 From: Jonceski Jasmina Subject: Re: [oztori] Sammi Jay > OK, I never knew the story of Sammi Jay, so I just plonked Sammi > Jay Tori > Amos into google and got this: {snip] > OMG Dynasty/Dallas!?! OMG Heather Locklear!! NOOO! LOL! I used to have that as an mp3...I wonder whatever happened to it...I think I have it on MD now. Heheh...come on who wouldn't want to take on the name of one of Heather Locklear's characters. And just as an aside, does anyone else think that David Byrne is very weird in that interview? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 15:45:03 GMT From: Rebecca Appleton Subject: Re: [oztori] siberry jam On Mon, 22 Jul 2002 15:31:27 +1000, AndrewR wrote: >Or really, spread the Siberry word - someone who hasn't heard her - >take up >Becc's offer! I'm up to Heart of Gold Rattlesnakes is still fucking fantastic. I'm not in love is just SHITE. Hello. SHITE. New Age isn't too bad - wierd start to the album. '97 B&C is still creepy but it's novelty wore off a long time ago. Not that it's not still good. SLG well, I haven't listened to it in a while, and it is really quite the toe-taping up-lifting little number isn't it. I think I've overplayed it in mp3 for when I first got it. It's still good though. (I think the mp3 version has been ingrained in my memory, cause in the mp3 version I downloaded originally - it wasn't the BEST copy - and about a 1/4 way through the sound drops out and comes back in - and when I was listening to the Album version - well I was waiting for that 'drop out' bit to be there as if it is part of the song! Funny that. Enjoy the Silence is sweet - I liked it from when I first listened to the album - although I haven't overplayed this one - obviously! ;) Time is really good... but I think it was her version on Letterman or Leno or Conan which simply blew me away. Does anyone have this on MP3. I probably have it on tape somewhere buried between an episode of Survivor II and The Lone Gunmen. :o) Heart of Gold - useless track. Not the best - not the WORST - but not the BEST not even one of the good tracks. It feels like a Raspberry Swirl wannabe. I don't Like Mondays (just finished) really nice. Happiness is a Warm Gun... has just started. Sorta too long. Sorta not needed on the album. That underneath guitar - what is that? She seems to cut off George Bush... LOL!
