Andrew ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 03 Jul 2002 20:10:30 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: [oztori] Vanessa Carlton I bought the Vanessa Carlton cd-single the otherday - it was 4.95 (That's more like it for singles not fucking 9.95)... anyway I saw her clip (she's playing a piano that moves out from her garage and along the streets until it ends up back in her garage) and I bought the single and I LIKE VERY MUCH!! It is really good. And the bee-sides are REALLY good too. She has an album coming out it says... I think I would buy it on the strength of this CD single alone! Really good. That is my oztori pick for the week. I would recommend live versions of "Along for the Ride", "Ordinary Day" and "Would that be OK?" (i think that's what it's called - it's only 1.08mins long - but it's really cool!) so yeah - yay vanessa :) Kate - --- "Give me life, give me pain, give me myself again" - Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 Jul 2002 00:01:10 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: Re: [oztori] Vanessa Carlton At 00:06 4/07/2002 +1000, Kate Findlay wrote: >Heya :) > >> I bought the Vanessa Carlton cd-single the otherday - it was 4.95 (That's >> more like it for singles not fucking 9.95)... anyway I saw her clip (she's >> playing a piano that moves out from her garage and along the streets until >> it ends up back in her garage) and I bought the single and I LIKE VERY >> MUCH!! There is that "Twilight" track as the first bee-side and it is live and VERY good - I couldn't believe it was a live performance until I read it on the back of the single/got to the end with the clapping. OK, so where is her album $21.95 and where can I download these live tracks? VERY good stuff by Vanessa Carlton (I heartilt recommend!) Andrew >Kate > >--- >"Give me life, give me pain, give me myself again" - Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Jul 2002 17:31:36 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan "®" Subject: [oztori] Distant Storm mp3's Some of you may/may not know that Tori did a track under the guise of 'Tess Makes Good' for the 1988 movie, 'China O'Brien'. Just over 2 minutes' worth of the song appears in the film - however, 'unfortunately', 'twas not ever released on the film's soundtrack, etc. Anyway, up till now, only a poor quality mp3 wif a lot o' hissing noise was available for download.. BUT now some good versions are finally available at: http://www.geocities.com/toridistantstorm/ This site contains a 'new' version of Distant Storm (which is different to the one on the VHS version of the film.. apparently this is from the DVD? It's a diff mix).. and the 'old' version in much better sound quality. Wow - an 'on topic' post for once from moi!
