From the RDT(RN) archives again: In 1993 [June 5th], fans in Australia kicked off the first "Tori Birthday Project," in which people put together a little booklet to send to Tori for her birthday. Heh. Aussies actually got organised about something??? (But what have we got in return for our loyalty?) and Nayth, that video is just a tad too precious now to let out of my hands (and to trust Australia Post with). Once they get to half full I get a little nervous about something happening and it being wiped or lost. But I will try and sort out something, I've also got the Hey Hey 'Cornflake Girl' (though others have that too don't they?) and some old Leno, Letterman and even SNL I think, that others would probably appreciate. ~singing~ I'm going to be an aunty again X Lavs (Lavenda 1, primary adjunct of dominatrix Glenn) ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ Who could ever say you're not simply wonderful - 'Merman', Tori Amos ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ ~^^~ http://www.freewebz.com/tiarna/start.html - Tiarna's Homepage http://www.freewebz.com/drifts/start.html - Drifts Get Deeper ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Jun 2002 22:26:10 +1000 From: "riot poofter" Subject: Re: [oztori] Quiz time > > 5) The SINGLE most embarrassing > > single/album/CD/cassette in your possession is: > >Sonia's album. Don't American's pronounce it Mel-born (with a real emphasis on the 'born') Brisbane was mentioned in Enterprise the other night by Hoshi. It was pronounced correctly too... Shake your bon bon... (obligatory bad Ricky Martin 'song' reference). Well we Orstraaaaayan 'peoples' & Britz don't really pronounce the 'r' when it's along with a vowel ('vocalic r'). Only Americans really do this - which is why they sound so goddamn annoying sometimes IMNSHO ;) (no offense to Nerida et. al.). It's called 'rotacization' - where there is an 'r'-like quality to the vowel. Like Americans will say 'car' as 'carrrr', whereas we just say 'k' + 'ah'. > ...so where's Nayth when you need him? Here :) Or, 'herrrre' for any US ppl reading this :) Nathan. .
