Yesterday I made myself a new Yahoo account for various reasons & I was suprised at how easy it was, all I had to enter was some crap about gender & occupation & I was away. The most difficult part was choosing a username nobody else had (in the end I went with "tearoffyourownhead", a new Elvis Costello song that RAWKS.) Although, I was signing up via Yahoo Australia, maybe it's different for Yahoo in the US or the UK... E. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr stoopid thing. and then Roozi rued: "i entered mIRC but was nobody home :( and only minutes after andrew's email said (i think, deleted it...)" I would have been there (if not on IRC, then on Yahoo Messenger at least) except that you chose such a silly time. :P~~~~ (I mean, geez, I was on all yesterday from 8-4PM WST - --which is until 6PM EST-- & apart from the amazing Bindy you all had better things to do until 10PM??? It might be OK for those with PCs in the comfort of their own home to stay up until the wee hours, but for those of us who depend upon computer labs, it's not my idea of fun to stay overnight on campus in a small, stuffy room with only the security guards for company.) Anyhow, for those who do sensible things like using their PC during the day & going out in the evenings, I will be "online" (Y! messenger, icq, possibly IRC) from around 2-7PM EST. I like to hold them and slide them into my collection (except for my favourites, which stack on my bedside table), for one thing. I can listen to mp3s on my computer with no problems, but I baulk for some reason at burning these mp3s onto CD to carry around with me in my discman. I suppose I figure if it's good enough to burn to CD, it's good enough to buy on CD. ~Becc :) - -- www.crappism.org ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 May 2002 03:46:10 +0100 (BST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Daniel?= Subject: Re: [oztori] housekeeping > I can listen to mp3s on my > computer with no > problems, but I baulk for some reason at burning > these mp3s onto CD > to carry around with me in my discman. Even if its something I own on vinyl and have downloaded, I still feel icky burning it to listen to...but yeah, if its good enough to burn, its good enough to buy. xoxo Dan ps - this doesn't mean i'm going to buy all the crap that i download and burn, just the good stuff. ===== I have a fish nailed to a cross on my apartment wall It sings to me with glassy eyes and quotes from Kafka Everything you'll ever need on one web page from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts http://uk.my.yahoo.com ------------------------------ End of oztori-digest V2 #159 ****************************
