I guess it's something to do with us all being water signs. :) Other best ofs I own are: Depeche Mode (which Nayth also has, I think) Joy Division (even though I have "all" their albums) The Smiths--two versions--one singles, the other a dodgy Bali compilation Crowded House Elvis Costello (around 3 or 4 different compilations) Buzzcocks The Doors Elvis T-Rex Bowie Cocteau Twins Patti Smith ... I could go on... gosh this is awful, I must be the Best of queen. Which is quite odd because I am a bit of a snob about best ofs... Speaking as the list's U2 freak yet again, I also have the U2 best of. This is partly because of its collectability (the "ltd ed." 2 CD version with a disc of B sides is fairly collectable) but I do actually play mine from time to time. So it will be interesting to see how many pre-existing EWF rush out & grab Tori's.... Oh dear I feel another innuendo coming on. Josephine Spring Haze Suede Datura concertina Juarez glory of the 80's Bliss riot poof Lust 1000 Oceans There are no REAL duds on that album - so a lot (ok all) of these rate way above tracks like "Liquid Diamonds" There'd be a gap between riot poof and Lust - everything above Lust become inseparable on a 'rating' chart. 1000 Oceans is good - I know why people get 'miffed' at it - but it does have some nice little motifs appearing all over the song. Lust is better live and with a piano only - like in the musique plus performance. And I've worked out what is wrong with the studio version of Josephine - it's NOT the drums which I thought ruined the song - it's the superfluous guitar work!! Those twings and twangs of Caton's REALLY aren't necessary in Josephine. The drums work, with the whole military thing going with it. The Musique Plus - piano only version, again is so nice. That's how Americans spell it. The alternative spelling is leukaemia. > trya nd find a cynical comemnt for THAT nayth! > (note: if you actually do i > will come round and deface all your tori and kate > cds and unalphabetise > them!) NO! Anything but unalphabetising them!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaghh! (seriously, I probably would get stressed if you did this :P) > > > Bliss (unless re-recoded as "Fist"...) > > > >LOL I'd like to hear your take on this.. erm I > think. > > is just b/c a friend of mine obsessively used to > change somng titles to be > about fisting... eg "fist me baby one more time", > "this fist" (sample lyric: > this fist this fist/ unshoveable / this fist this > fist/ unpluggable")... Oh LOVELY. > and > so songs that lendf themselves to that always change > themselves in my mind > now... is most annoying But if Tori re-did Bliss as "Fist".. she'd pronounce it as "Feast" anyway. Well its 10 years today since I saw Tori in the flesh for the first time and got her autograph at Southland shopping centre in Melbourne. She sang 3 or 4 songs and then signed some cds. There was hardly anyone there and I got her to auto Little earthquakes and the Winter cd single. Remember saying something stupid like I was glad she released winter as it was my favourite song off the album. Wasn't aware of all those appearances either... must've been out shopping that morning. Hmmm, obviously anyone with these on tape is missing in action or keeping a very low profile. And I thought getting her Hey Hey Cornflake Girl appearance was good! (Though I'll be getting The Big Picture very soon. Oh what a laugh that is going to be!)
