(the rest of you just get my non-embarassing regular ones.) when I am king you will be faced against the wall with your opinion which is of no consequence at all what's there??? E. "wildside" was such a stroke of brilliance. i loved maxine's character, too, & i adore rachael blake. & yes, she & tony martin are still together [or were as of last year, when they attended the afi awards together]. one day she'll see the light & leave him for me ;) heidi. - ------ "i want so much to write well, though i know i don't ... but during and at the end of my life, i will adore those who have." -- *dorothy parker* * heidi maier - maier@joynet.com.au * ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 May 2002 21:22:24 +1000 From: "nina riddel" Subject: Re: [oztori] wildside + "I'm online right now!" >Ahh, but I am considering an interstate move next >year.... ;) to QUEENSLAND? what on earth for? OMG...I think I have an idea of who that is...I'll do some checking around but that name is so familiar to me. And "and headed for Sydney (about 100km away)", that sounds awfully like a wollongong person to me..... The name is too familiar... (apart from me, of course ;) Not necessarily Queensland (although I must confess Queenslanders' accents have always turned me on *grin*)... I have a list of about 5 or 6 non-WA unis I'll probably apply for a postgrad award for, and UQ is one of them as it seems to have a strong History dept., especially in the area of modern American history. Other places I'm considering are: ANU Flinders La Trobe Uni of Melbourne Monash Uni of Sydney Since the majority of Oztorians are in/have completed tertiary education, I'd appreciate any advice/comments regarding those particular places... > I always had a soft spot for Charlie > >after that extremely full-on episode where he finds the > >guy who ran the abusive school/orphanage thing where he > >grew up... > > yeah I did like that.. but I really really liked the one where Max was being > stalked and the guy killed himself? > Yeah, I think I remember that one... > yeah. she didn't do it for me quite as much as she did as Max (I think it > was the character and the sweltering sexual tension of her on and off-screen > thing with Bill) but it's still good. > I agree... actually I was a little disappointed with Lantana in general. I'd heard a lot of recommendations for it (rave reviews such as "this will change your life" etc.) so when I finally got around to seeing it (on video) I was expecting something really traumatic & interesting like Wildside & then it... wasn't, so much.
