Well I thought it was a tad 'surprising' given that she doesn't exactly set the singles chart on fire here (eg. Joga #70, Bachelorette #95 were her last charting singles). > nb. cd one is crap but cd two has "amphibian" from > the ost of "being john malkovich" and is thus worth > getting Well I'm not much of a buyer of Bjork singles. Remixes bore me to tears usually (Hyerballad Girls Blouse Mix is yummy though, and some of the Big Time Sensuality ones are fun), and the only decent b-side Bjork has ever done is "Scary" IMNSHO ;) ... so I tend not to buy them. The book, titled "Starfucker: just like my sister" (changed from working title "Oh little sister, you'll forgive me some day"), hit shelves on Monday, despite a court-battle from 38 year-old Amos to block its release. Mike and Maree Amos claim to have written the book to set the record straight on a number of things about their younger sister. The book claims that Tori's childhood prodigious piano-playing, including the distinction of being the youngest ever admittee to the prestigious Peabody Conservatorium for music in the US, was only brought about from her intentional seduction of a priest, at age 5, who also happened to be a piano teacher at the conservatorium. The claim has been adamantly dismissed by Amos, although Dr. Peter Hollingsworth, an Australian govener general, has indeed confirmed that the 5 year-old Amos enticed the priest into giving her lessons after wowing him with her infantile, seductive, feminine ways. The priest in question has come out and denied the allegations, affirming that he rather prefers boys. Tori's siblings also claim that her precocious love afair with the priest resulted in the death of their beloved (although despised by Tori) grandmother, Addie Allen, who could not live with the shame and guilt that her own flesh and blood had so evilly seduced such a pure, holy man with sinful temptation, causing him to renounce his vows of celibacy. Amos has never had any qualms about bashing her late grandmother in interviews since her 1991 debut on the international music scene. Mike and Maree also accuse Tori of causing permanent physical damage to their neighbour, Mr Jim's daughter. Mr Jim's daughter, whom Tori once punched on the nose, has since filed a lawsuit against Amos, demanding an unspecified amount to cover medical costs and psychological trauma resulting from the unprovoked blow to the nose. The plaintiff has been in psychotherapy ever since the incident, has subsequently been forced to drop-out of school in Grade 1, and is now addicted to painkillers and ice-packs. Furthermore, Mr Jim's daughter is also suing Amos for defamation, after Tori allegely 'poked fun' of the incident in her 1996 b-side, "Toodles Mr Jim". Judge Judith Sheinlin (sp?) is set to hear the case next Wednesday. It is understood that the late Mr Jim will not be able to be present to come to Tori's aid instead. Other scandalous claims maid by the Amos pair include: Tori became addicted to masturbation at an early age; Tori drinks wine on a regular basis (gasp!); and that Tori lip-synched the vocals to Y Kant Tori Read. Mike and Maree claim that their father, Dr Edison Amos, sang the vocals to Y Kant Tori Read - recorded live from a drag show he performed at one of the gay bars his daughter played in as a teen - and that this recording was sped up so that it could pass as Tori's voice. Other evidence to support the claim includes the fact that Y Kant Tori Read did not perform more than one "live" show (even Milli Vanilli performed more), and that the band were originally to be titled "Y Kant Tori Sing", but the name-change was brought about on Tori's insistence. Amos has responded to the allegations made by her siblings in a press statement which reads as follows: "I have nothing to say to Mike and Maree except... I really should re-record my song 'Sister Named Desire' and re-name it 'Sister Named LaToya' in their honour." The book is available now through 'I think the Good Book is missing some pages' publishing. ======================================================= Yahoo! And no, *I* did not make this up (for once): Though I've thrown in my comments in braces [ ] throughout. - ------------------------------------------------------- Slam Fox belts fan at a gig By IAN HEPBURN, Crime Reporter PAGE 3 legend Sam Fox belted a fan with a microphone after her famous boobs were groped as she sang at a gig. The pint-sized singer [what a cliche] lashed out at Anders Eriksson, 34, who crumpled to his knees with blood pouring from his head. But the shocked dad of two who says he was hit twice claims he did not touch Sam, 36. The bust-up happened when Sam belted out her hit Touch Me to 400 fans [LOL she has 400 fans? - and what do you expect when you're singing "Touch Me" anyway?] at the gig in a village hall at Lonnsboda, Sweden, on Friday night. As she got down on her knees [gee, that makes a change for her I bet.. not] at the front of the stage, male fans who had paid #15 for a ticket lunged forward and grabbed her breasts. Others ran their hands over her legs and body. Sam struck out with the cordless microphone [mmmmmm wonder if it was even plugged in] and Anders who was with his girlfriend Sofie and pals slumped to his knees. Security men ran in to rescue him, helped bandage his wounds and called police. Sam left the stage but was persuaded to return to finish the gig. Furious Anders who works in a dry cleaners said: She only has herself to blame. [sounds like a line from the verses of Girlfriend's "Bad Attitude"] She worked along the edge of the stage and was too close to the audience. They were grabbing at her and I think she panicked [what for? Like it's never happened to her before ;) ]. She hit me in the side of the head. I just remember terrific pain ['terrific pain'?? Are you a masochist?] and feeling dizzy. What she did was reckless. I was a totally innocent victim. From the very start she seemed to be in a foul mood. [cool - all the more reason to liker her!] All in all it was a pretty lousy night. [er, what do you expect mate - you're at a *Sam Fox* gig forchrissakes] Sam said: Security was very poor and a group of male fans at the front repeatedly made attempts to grab and manhandle me. [but would she have objected if they were women.. given that she's now a lesbian.. LOL] I could only defend myself with my microphone. We have taken up the matter of security with the promoters. Sofie, 33, said: She needs to control her temper. When the groping started she was screaming at people to leave her alone. At one point she warned that if anyone else touched her she would kill them. ["Touch me, if you touch me, I'm gonna maul your body, Your heartbeat stops next to mine" heheh] Sams Scandinavian agent Thomas Helvig said: People were grabbing her all over and the security guards did not react quickly enough. [they probably assumed it was part of her show] Sam had to act in self-defence. She hit out with the microphone. What she did was perfectly within her rights. Sam who made her Page 3 debut at 16 launched a singing career and Touch Me went to No3 in 1986. Three years ago she shocked fans by confessing she was gay and lived with her manager Myra Stratton. [lol what a pity not 'Myra ELLEN'! Ha - there's my next story - "Amos admits she is in lesbian relationship with Sam Fox".. I LOVE IT!] Local police confirmed they are investigating Anders complaint of assault. ======================================================= Nathan. . Yahoo! Games - play chess, backgammon, pool and more http://games.yahoo.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Apr 2002 05:41:37 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan R Subject: [oztori] Amos admits she is in lesbian relationship with Sam Fox TORI Amos, hit singer of "Honey Bring It Close To My Lips" and "You Bet Your Life It Is", has revealed that she is in a lesbian relationship with 80's one-hit wonder, bombshell and former topless model, Samantha Fox. Samantha Fox is best known for her breasts... and, er her 1986 chart-topper, the provocatively titled "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)", which hit #1 in both the US, and that large southern island that neither we nor Britney Spears can recall the name (or location for that matter) of - the one that 'Crocodile Dundee' was made in. Both Fox and Amos share a similar musical background exploring taboo and forbidden themes - Tori with her avidly sensual song lyrics and stage-performances (including pelvic thrusting upon a piano stool), and Fox with her blatantly erotic song titles - including "Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me)", "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" and perhaps best of all, "(Hurt Me, Hurt Me) But the Pants Stay On". Further parallels can be drawn between Amos and Fox - both were prodigious in their 'craft' at a very young age. Amos was the youngest ever admittee to the Peabody Conservatorium at age 5, and Fox was the youngest ever topless page 3 model in the UK at age 16. It comes as little surprise then that the couple hit it off (literally speaking) with one another when they first met at a trendy raspberry picking farm. "I was picking berries, that Mr Jim taught me how to pick, when I saw her standing there, to quote Tiffany.. er, the Beatles" beams Amos. "My first words to her were, 'you make my raspberry swirl, baby'". Fox responded with similar admiration to Amos's advances, "I only wanna be with you." Amos had apparently been on the hunt for the Fox for some time before the two laid eyes on each other. As far back as 1994, Amos was thanking "Fox" in the liner notes to her Cornflake Girl single. The song also contained the lyric, "Rabbit, where'd you put the keys girl?" Amos explains, "I used Rabbit, because I wanted to be the rabbit that the fox (Samantha) hunted down. I wanted to be completely at her mercy." Amos also makes reference to Sam on "New Age" on her latest disc, StrangeLittleGirls, on the line "you sick little FOX". Amos snickers, "I threw that line in because Sam is well, sick! Hehehe. She has some of the most perverse thoughts I've ever heard in my life!" Fox butts in, "I don't see you complaining though do I?" with a wry grin. "I mean, we were both in dodgy spandex in the 80's.. we both had big hair. My only regret is that we didn't hook up back then," states Amos. "Eric (Rosse - former partner of Amos) and I actually broke up because of my developing interest in Sam," said Amos. "The final straw was that he called me a 'pig' for liking her... which led me to taking that photo shoot of me breastfeeding a pig on my Boys For Pele album. I thought, 'fine.. If I'm a pig then I'm going to indulge in my fantasies. One of which is cuddling up to Sam's bosom. Like that pig did to mine." "Also, it was not my record company's idea to relocate me to the UK back in 1991," continues Amos. "It was mine. I suggested the idea and begged with them to let me go there, because I wanted to be nearer to Sam." Amos and Fox are now planning to get engaged, and are looking forward to the possibility of having children together. "We're looking for sperm doners as we speak", froths Amos. "Hehehe.. Maybe Sam ought to just do another topless shoot and get some male fan to jerk off over it and send it in!" ======================================================= Yahoo!
