Not meaning to be horrible, but can I skip the movie thing and meet up with you guys elsewhere afterwards? I saw LOTR in Gold Class and don't really want to go again. Good movie, but don't need to see it again. Not wanting to see any other movies at the moment. Sunday (24th Feb) I will be too hung over. Having drinkies on Saturday night. Got a pretty solid schedule this month, but will try to meet with you guys after you see movie in a month or so. ~Bindy _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 14:39:31 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: Re: [oztori] totally OT - Bris LOTR At 17:42 17/02/2002 +1000, nina riddel wrote: >welll.....what about this. 'cause I SO want to see MDve - I've been waiting for it since I heard it was going to be a TV series - before it was insead made a Movie... AND I dearly want to see the LOTR again... I've heard that there will be a new 'final roll' brought out (hopefully not just in the US) and that the final roll will supposedly have some new scenes at the end and the Two Towers preview after the film!?! OR something like that - I'm not too sure on that new scene rumour - but I have heard the TT preview rumour in several places! That movie is out in what... 8 months!?! I must be about the same time last year that we saw the first previews emerge for TFOTR... Anyway, I just saw Being John Malkovich on Foxtel again... how good is this movie!?! The funniest scene was Elijah the chimp having flash backs about his family being captured! I went last night and saw "The Shipping News". Now I have heard nothing but "oh it's just ok" reports about this movie - admittedly from newspaper reviews (those reviewers just bag well liked films to make themselves sound like they know something that everyone else doesn't.) I just have to say that "The Shipping News" was absofuckinglutely fantasmagorical! I had no expectations or preconceptions and knew basically nothing about the film (which is the best way to see film sometimes) and I was totally absorbed and engrossed. I lost myself in this film. How good was Kevin Spacey? And of course Cate Blanchette was ever the chamaelon. She was in such a small amount of the film, but she made a terrific impact. And what more can you same about Judi Dench - how fantastic is that actress? Julianne Moore was great too - I really hadn't seen her in anything before but had heard her name. (or maybe I have seen her in some other movies but have never known who she was). Again the casting in this film was just perfect, even down to Rus Ivans? SP? - what a change from his role in Notting Hill and even "Roswell's" Jason Fehr - that guy actually HAS a personality, unlike Max from the show - which was nice to see! Pete Posthelwaite SP? Was great to see him in this movie - I had no idea he was in this movie, but he's usually makes movies that little bit better when he's in them, no matter how big the part! I highly reccommend this film. Is it me or was there a little bit cut out that was seen in the preview - I'm talking about that bit where Cate Blanchette's character turns around and looks back from a car driving away... where she looks VERY TORI! Tori Amos and Cate Blanchette, they are Chamaeleons, nearly every picture I see of them they are different! Anyone else think that?
