What's more, that "This Mess We're In" song is awful IMNSHO. And technically speaking... SLG wasn't a "single" here (or anywhere else "officially") really, was it? ;) Although it at least had a video made. Also, one wonders exactly how few votes you need to scrape into the Hottest 100 (say, at #100). JJJ is only listened to by a small % of the population.. and if the #1 song (and mebbe the top 10) are all "rilly popular" and get a few thousand votes.. what do you need to barely scrape in? Did thousands of people *REALLY* think "This Mess We're In" was the best song of 2001?? lol.. I doubt it. Did thousands of people They said that last year they had about half a million votes. Of course, not all of those would have been for ones that made it. Sometimes they mention how many votes the top song/s get, but since I turned it off after Androgeny, I can't comment on whether they did this time. And I don't think they had to be 'singles', just songs. After all, Triple J has a tendancy to play album tracks quite reguarly (and not just for the album of the week, though it can often stem from that).
