I'd have been interested, but can't make it (for long enough to eat anything) on that day. Saturdays basically suck for me, period. (Ugh, I feel so American saying "period" but replacing it with "full stop" just sounds weird.) That's a particularly bad Saturday, since I'm starting work at "approximately" 4:30pm, which basically means I could have to start anywhere between 3pm and 5pm (I don't find out till the Thursday before it). Ruins my whole day, basically. Bah. That Sunday is crapola for me too, in case you're going to ask. I'm not a multiple (good thing for you). But for the record, I most certainly meant, "There we go." You addressed your email to big Dan, but it was sent to a mailing list all the same, wherein it would surely have been quite clear to you that your, "There ya go," at the end would be read by everyone. And clearly in my response I was speaking only for myself and not for everyone. Not to mention that my, "So there we go" had nothing whatsoever to do with the opinions contained within the email. I was responding to the single closing sentence, "So there ya go." As a member of a group who, according to the final words of your email, will apparently be _going_ somewhere. That place being "there". Wherever that is. *praying for Ireland* ;) Mcc> l'il Dan knew I read the list, I emailed Mcc> him the answer privately about a Tori question that was being Mcc> discussed. Sorry, my mistake: I misinterpreted the earlier mention of Dan as meaning that Dan had _invited_ you to join the list (in which case I'd have whupped his li'l bum! ;) ), not just prodded you out of hiding. And I don't doubt that li'l Dan is well, a _little_ bit intelligent, at least. ;) But if _he_'s not to blame for your presence, then... *gasp* YOU are! And to you I say, c'mon now: this is an Australasian list. There are seventy thousand forums and mailing lists on which people can discuss Tori, in a forum that unfortunately becomes almost country-specific if only because of the ratio of online Americans to online non-Americans. We ask for just ONE place in which to discuss Tozza with people who reside in the same country as us. And, for daring to bring up the possibility that some people might not be impressed with the idea of a non-Australasian person on the list, big Dan gets accused with "target(ting) on [sic] a newbie Californian". As I just said, just to make sure everyone gets it - people coming to the city meet Town Hall steps around 1:30. We can then decide if we'll stay in city for dinner or head back to putt putt. If you're not coming to city, Lara, I'll call you when we've decided, or call me anytime. If you're going to come into the city with us, I'll meet you at beecroft around 12:10? I'll catch the approx. 12:20 train to make sure I'm there on time. Or catch the 12:50 if thats better for you. xoxo Dan At 04:01 PM 20/01/02 +1100, Rala wrote: >So it's still a city thing? I tried to think of something half-relevant (for a change) to send to the list, but I couldn't. I just wanted an excuse to post the cool Tori/related quotes below: Nathan. "I think I'm Metallica, but don't tell anybody. I'm a one-woman Metallica. Acoustic, at that." - Tori part of Beavis & Butthead critique of the "God" vid: [Snake-catching scene within the 'God' video.] BUTTHEAD: This chick is psycho! BEAVIS: Yeah, it's like, you know, like she's pretty hot, but it's like, I don't know, man. I might stay away from her. BUTTHEAD: Yeah. It's like, she's got a nice body and everything, but if you went out with her, she'd probably, like, put a rat's head on your bed or something. BEAVIS: That wouldn't be so bad, it's just she'd probably chop off your weiner, too. BUTTHEAD: Oh, yeah. You don't want to get involved with a chick who has, like, a whole bunch of pets. BEAVIS: Yeah, yeah. They get all psycho. part of Beavis and Butthead Critique of Crucify vid TORI: ...I wanna spit in their faces... BUTTHEAD: She's gonna spit on someone? BEAVIS: Yeah! Yeah! Heh-heh-heh! Go for it! BUTTHEAD: That would be pretty cool. Uh-huh-huh. "content is lesbian to the core" - part of v.negative Boys for Pele review from Stereophile ("lmao") from same review: "Maybe literally, as Ms. Amos appears to have come out of the closet here in a major way, and certainly, as opposed to the finely modeled songcraft, unusual imagery, lyrical lines, and deft performances of her debut album Little Earthquakes and the follow-up Under The Pink. (I do my homework and learn fast.) While the imaginative and moving Bells For Her (Under The Pink; note too, the wistful, chiming soundscape, via modified upright piano) may be a lightly veiled lesbian declaration, it also speaks to universal truth - - here, of a troubled female friendship, crystallizing like a bright and shining gift the get-well wish I would write for a friend of mine, if I could ever write as well as Tori Amos." "I think happiness is when you can let yourself feel every emotion you want to at any time instead of just being a lying little f---. People I see laughing all the time, check for razor blades in their anal-force underwear, because its just a little lie." - Tori "There was actually a part of me that felt really yummy going: 'OK Babe, You're in a bit of trouble. Things aren't going well. Put Your feet up. I'll make You a cup of tea 'cause You need some advice. I'm not busy this week so You're in luck' " - Tori on 'God'. . Send FREE video emails in Yahoo!
