Yeah I agree, those three are excellent tracks. And 'Mortal City' itself (the song, not the album) is really stirring when you stop typing and give the lyrics some proper attention. ;) My favourite album is also 'Green World', overall, though if I'm feeling a bit more, er, "boppy" (for lack of a better word... Kinda related (but not really)... Would anyone believe that... back in '94 (Friday October 28th to be precise), when I was in year 10... we went on a history "excursion" to Sovereign Hill (place in Ballarat, Vic where the 'gold rush' or something was), and... my friend (gasp I actually had one!) took along her camera... and was taking various snaps of me standing behind windows (yes, she was as equally bizarre as I... one-time Tori fan too!). Anyhow, one of the photos of me standing behind the glass window of a barn with my hands pressed up against the glass looks *suspiciously* like the photo in the Boys for Pele booklet where you see the little "children" up against the glass.... And we did this before Boys For Pele was even an itch in Tori's jock-strap (or something)! Do you think we should sue? **and on a brief note of relevance.. perhaps I will consider 'submitting' the pic to the list if a) my friend still has it (she should have) b) I get my greasy mits on a scanner, and c) (most challenging of all) I can figure out how to use the bloody thing. Why am I not surprised? When I was living in the uni residences earlier this year, there was a protest on over at the admin building about various things - free degrees, the crappiness of Centrelink, all the usual causes (I generally agree with them, but didn't attend because storming the uni admin foyer is such an unoriginal caper that never achieves anything but falsely makes people feel like they're doing something when they're not) - and a new flatmate of mine arrived home to say she'd joined in a protest where there was a picture of John Howard burned, etc. She was terribly excited about having been a part of such a thing, but it became clearer and clearer, as she raved on about the slogans she'd yelled along with the crowd, that she didn't have the foggiest idea in hell what the whole thing was about. Ah, the joys of protesting for the sake of protesting. Someone wanna explain them to me, again? ~Becc. :P ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2001 15:35:34 +1000 From: Becc Subject: Re[2]: [oztori] [ozdar] On Friday, 28/12/2001 at 8:08 AM, Daniel G wrote: DG> i will not be afraid of women, DG> dan ;) Oh no? *brandishing long whip* ~Becc >:) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2001 18:26:52 +1100 From: "riot poofter" Subject: Re: [oztori] "Girls for Pele", perhaps? >>>But far from being an exercise in woman-bashing, Amos >>says she has also, in the process, unveiled a great >>empathy for her fellow sisters.
