BT did that. even tori thinks it's better than the original: she replaced the original with it on subsequent album pressings... as for the Synaesthesia (or however you spell it) mix... well, it's not one of BT's finest moments.... but it's a very good dub. i think you kinda have to be into dubby electronica to apprieciate it. it is a piece of technical wonderment, like most of his stuff, with a perfectly scaled build-up and wonderful understatement. the dub is a genre to itself: a genre tailored towards a club, and towards ambience, rather than intense listening scrutiny. when BT remixes, he usually does a mix (epic and heartbrekaing) and a dub (minimalistic, abstract, funky). in this case, the dub was the longer mix, and the mix was Tornado. when it comes down to it though, talula is the shittiest track on pele (IMHO) so he didn't have much to work with. l'il dan ===== So then I thought I'd make some plans But fire thought she'd really rather be water instead. - -Tori Amos Blissful Bubbles of Poetry: http://learthquakes.proboards.com/ Yahoo! Or is it just 'redundant' or 'an example of > tautology'? I understand redundant to mean that which is in excess or beyond what is needed, as in "The appendix is a redundant part of the human gastrointestinal system" whereas a tautology is a statement in which the elements in themselves are redundant, as in "The Lieutenant planned to *ascend higher* in rank to Major". A tautology is also a specific condition in Logic when the statement (i.e. preposition) is true whatever the case because it contains all elements of truth. For example, "Either Mark ate the ice-cream or Mark did not eat the ice-cream". Truth in this regard is logical, not factual. A logical tautology can in this sense be considered redundant since it offers no further explanation beyond itself about how the world is. Hope this helped. Tautology may be a noun, but that does not necessarily mean you can add an 'a' in front of it. For example, you cannot say "a happiness", "a cups" or "a avocado" (:P). You *could* in theory add an 'a' to it if it were in a phrase such as "a tautology book". But singularly, you cannot. The correct article to use, instead, would be "the". But in the context of what I think you're trying to say, "an example of tautology" would be better. Nathan. . Yahoo!
