Her dad is the president of it, after all, and is very highly involved with his daughter's career. Speaking from a lot of experience in dealing with her management (Spivak Entertainment), dealing with her publishing company is -much- nicer. The folks at Spivak don't return phone calls, faxes, or emails. They're horrific at following through on promises, even routine requests such as sending out a bloody press kit. The folks at Atlantic in the US are just as bad. I haven't dealt with the European arm of Atlantic, but I understand they're not helpful either. If y'all really want contact info for the various Tori-related folks in the States, I can dig that up and pass it along. But if you have the info for her publishing company, that's really your best bet. I wouldn't recommend spamming them with a hundred faxes, but something short and polite may garner some good attention. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Nov 2001 15:34:08 -0800 (PST) From: Dan Stapleton Subject: Re: [oztori] Re: oztori-digest V1 #234 - --- Angela Ho wrote: > part of the reason i had a read in though was bcs > -lil dan i heard you on > the radio last night :) yay! :) l'il dan p.s - angela, you B+Ped me 'my favorite martian' a coupla months ago.... remember? :) ===== So then I thought I'd make some plans But fire thought she'd really rather be water instead. - -Tori Amos Blissful Bubbles of Poetry: http://learthquakes.proboards.com/ Find a job, post your resume. http://careers.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Nov 2001 15:35:15 -0800 (PST) From: Dan Stapleton Subject: Re: [oztori] OT - stupidity - --- Jasmina J wrote: > just thought i'd share how i'm gonna fail my HSC > chem exam... awww.... i'm sending 'smart vibes'. :) ===== So then I thought I'd make some plans But fire thought she'd really rather be water instead. - -Tori Amos Blissful Bubbles of Poetry: http://learthquakes.proboards.com/ Find a job, post your resume. http://careers.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Nov 2001 15:37:08 -0800 (PST) From: Dan Stapleton Subject: Re: [oztori] me, myself, and... daniel gee? - --- Nathan R wrote: > :) Plus I was feeling catty at the time heehee, what a wonderful mental image that makes! saucer of milk, table two ;) l'il dan ===== So then I thought I'd make some plans But fire thought she'd really rather be water instead. - -Tori Amos Blissful Bubbles of Poetry: http://learthquakes.proboards.com/ Find a job, post your resume. http://careers.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 07 Nov 2001 11:08:31 +1100 From: Daniel G Subject: Re: [oztori] i may have discovered something >I wouldn't recommend spamming them with a hundred faxes, but something >short and polite may garner some good attention. thanks for the info nadyne! maybe if renee did something up in record company terms (i mean how you'd approach another publishing company or whatever) and we added stuff about oztori and such and appeal to them perhaps? what do we think? renee and nadyne would know best about how and when and what to say when approaching them or even if its worth it...any tips girls? xxoxo (oh look, a bonus kiss) dan ;) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Nov 2001 17:33:58 -0800 From: "Hill, Renee" Subject: [oztori] OT: ALANIS completely ot, but i'm listening to junkie for the first time in a while and i'd forgotten how much i loved it. I'll read them one day. If only Tiarna would sleep more. Anyway, what is happening with a poss. pressie for Tash/Tori? See actually that's something else, I'd personally feel funny getting something for Tash and not for Tori, but then, what can you get for Tori? Anyway, much as Snugglepot is a good book suggestion IMHO, it isn't high on the picture scale, so perhaps a Shirley Barber one would be better. You can get cardboard ones (great for the little hands, plus they don't rip), or the colours or counting ones (though they're not very Aussie). As for Snugglepot (or anything in that line) they have them in yellow/cream covered books (hard and soft cover) that are a bit smaller than A4, so it's a nice size, though I think they're about $20. It's such a hassle putting in a little bit of money when you can't just meet up with the person and hand it to them!!! Argh, but can you believe it, I spent (in theory, they're on layby) over $200 on Barbies for Tiarna today!!! But they're 'Princess of the French Court' (deep purple velvet gown with gold trim) and 'Goddess of Wisdom' (which one site says is Athena, but I never think of her in that respect), so not some really awful prissy pink things. But I can't believe I'm buying her Barbie. Heh, perhaps I donate 'Goddess of Wisdom' to Tash... nah, I don't have that much money! Heh anyway... oh dear, I jsut found a princess of Ireland!!! Sheesh, looks like I'm on a downward spiral... Got a psotcard for Tori today, witht he lovely Brewery phallus on it, I'll make some crack about Tori needing to get on top of it, and that if she comes to newcs she's only a day trip from the Hunter vineyards!
