Subject: [oztori] best albums of 2000... [demime could not interpret encoding binary - treating as plain text] Holly, you said Nelly Furtado's album was released last year? nuh-uh! It was released this year....I'm like a bird (worst track off the album) was released in about April/May (that's when my boy and i got together so i remember) and turn off the light was released spetember-ish and that's when the album came out... But yes, Nelly's album is actually REALLY good. I was amazed at how good she is. Those of who are basing her on the bird song, don't! The album is fucking brilliant, each track is totally different. And also, about the whole philosophical "everything has positive and negative to it", all you need to do is watch the Simpsons: Homer:"I'm looking for a present for my son" Shopkeeper:"I think your boy might like this" Homer:"Yeah! I'll take it!" Shopkeeper:"but i must tell you that the doll is cursed" Homer:"ooohhh, That's bad". Shopkeeper:"But it comes with a free frozen yoghurt which i call frogurt!" Homer:"That's good!" Shopkeeper:"The frogurt is also cursed" Homer:"that's bad" Shopkeeper:"But it comes with a free choice of topping!" Homer:"That's good!" Shopkeeper:"The topping contains potassium benzoate" Homer: *stares blankly* Shopkeeper:"That's bad" Homer:"Can I go now?" see! The simpsons agrees with you too Holly :) Nilay.... I remember Kate Findlay purchasing this album in January of this year from a store in Brisbane because she had heard a song from the album which she thought was good. So the Aussie release was around about March, which was when I'm Like A Bird came out - I remember because I bought 2 copies of it at this time. And I'm Like a Bird didn't actually make it to the top 40 until April/May, but having heard it before (from kate's album), I knew of it before it's commercial release. :o) > But yes, Nelly's album is actually REALLY good.
