LMAO!! I especially loved the daisy dead petals/push th' little daisies medley, although you neglected to clarify that the latter song is a ween cover :) - and yes naythn of course i know you know that...just being a smart ass Ode to the bananarama king is brilliant too... did anyone else see them on their "burger queen" tour a few years back?? the lip-synching was sooo blatant. one of the tackiest (and thus best) nites of my life, i must say. they were forced to sing some songs twice beacsue they had so little material that anyone wanted to hear!! however, i would've preferred "love in the first degree" over "robert deniros waiting". I still know teh moves to that one :) i don't think i will give a list of 20, cause i really would want to hear mostly tori songs, so I will just list some medlies and tori songs i would *have* to hear (yeah, like i wouldn't be ecstatic just to hear tori sing a medley of china and that awful bt mix of talula which goes for 9 mins and never gets past chasing tornadoes!! lmao) I will, in the event of actually seeing a tori show, have a big glittery sign saying "play butterfly tori!!!" witha big picture of a beautiful butterfly. or else i will call out "play tear in yer hand puloooooise!!!" like the woman on my bootleg of a 94 show at teh state theatre (sydney)who had a mega ocker accent, and who tori said "just a secind (sic), i'm telling a story" before making teh crowd say goodbye to one of her pianos and then starting an orgasmic version of tiyh. actually i would like to see a performance of butterfly done 97 bonnie 'n' clyde-esque as performance art, with the words to sylvia plath's poem daddy (on which butterfly is surely based - "if i've killed one man/i've killed two" etc) and with a reading of bits from plath's novel the bell jar (which butterfly also references) in between. if anyone cares, both the poem and teh book mentioned are awesome and *well* worth reading. "daddy" is ina book of poems called ariel. so that is one. make that 2 actually, cause of tiyh and nayth stole my fave madonna song already, but i would like to see an oh father/winter medley, since they are my two fave all time songs and both are about relationships with fathers and both make me cry everytime! thats 3 i definetely want to hear: - -horses (possibly w/out bq) - -cooling (with a sample played at the start of the 'speed racer' theme song: here he comes, here comes speed racer) - - father lucifer (lucy girl version!!!) - - 1000 oceans (just to piss everyone off, and i'd like it dedicated to me after she tells the whole crowd about the letter i sent her - and NO i haven't actually done this...yet - telling her why it was so goddam much like redaing my diary to hear the song) - - playboy mommy (possibly as medley with mama (spice girls :) - - putting the damage on (with video screen clip of heather saying "what is your damage, veronica?" from the film heathers) - - hotel (california) medley :) actually no, just hotel will do fine thanks very much (hotel california by the eagles...eeew) - -riot poof/its raining men (weather girls originally, now geri halliwell)/talkin' bout a revolution (tracy chapman) - - fire on the side, either with i'm on fire (springsteen, and she has recorded it on some mtv compilation)or a roxette song, either it must have been love or fading like a flower maybe, cause fire on teh side sounds *Soooo* much liek roxette! - - dreamer (toni childs cover) is very atmospheric and could easily combine with 97 b'n'c (which i definetely want to hear!!) or maybe bnc could be combined with a version of stan (someone on the dent has already suggested getting bjork to do the dido bit, but i'd like it to be sung by merry clayton (if you don't know who she is then do some research - hint: read the utp booklet :) - -caught a lite sneeze/fever (peggy lee cover, semi-recently covered, badly, by madonna) - - here. in my head - - silent all these years (medley with silence is golden? - and i don't know who originally sang that) - - the macarena (christmas joy mix) (los del rio cover)/have yourself a merry little xmas (judy garland cover i think??) (nb: if anyone is confused this is a version of teh macaren which was released at xmas time, which featured the macarena interspersed with badly sung - in thick european accents - xmas carols/auld lang syne. a true work of *genius*, which actually made number 5 on the aria chart!) - - sister janet/what have you done for me lately (janet jackson)/sisters are doing it for themselves (aretha franklin/eurythmics),again a duet with merry clayton - -sugar/sugar sugar (archies cover) - "sugar he brings me, sugar, all the robins bring, they bring many things but sugar, he brings me sugar sugar (bopbopbopbopbopbop), oh honey honey, you are my candy girl..." - - iieee/ebeneezer goode (shamen cover)/everything srtas with an 'e' (cover of a song by some dance act which was basically boy george under another name) oh shit, that *is* 20...oh well for an encore (although i anticipate 2 encores of 2 songs ecah and the ohfather/winter medley would end the show), i'd like to hear tori do a cover version of tanita tikaram's "tiwst in my sobriety" (anyone aaprt from nayth know this one??) with a liza minnelli song, cabaret i guess, (liza actually coverd twist in my sobriety, thanks to the pet shop boys) or maybe with a version of tubthumper (chumbawumba cover) then again i'd love to hear this >-The Underwear is Black (lmao.. song Tori wrote in >between YKTR and Little Earthquakes) or maybe good ol' baltimore (dedicated to filmmaker john waters, who is *obsessed* with his home town of baltimore) ooh, i know!! she could do "baltimore" as a medley with "tomorrow" from annie to reference the scene in serial mom (john waters film set in baltimore) where the woman gets beaten to detah witha leg of lamb whilst annie is playing... Purple? red is always associated with socialisma nd blue with conservatism, pretty much world-wide. red particularly connotes hammer and sickle, chinese flag etc. democrats, like many third parties (eg. spd in britain) get yellow cause is third primary colour. and greens, well der. nationals often actually get yellow or orange i think. and purple was all thatw as left when one nation became a factor!! maybe cause they are a mix of conservatism (blue/liberal) and working class voters (red/labor)?? i think genuine indies are given grey to resist potential assocs with other parties. i think one nation whould be in white, for white hoods :) >The colours sorta remind me of the scoreboard for Its a Knockout! ;o) lmao! i loved that show. it was filmed about 3 mins from my house :) Roozi (who wishes to be in pink and/or silver) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "if i can't dance it's not my revolution" - - emma goldman "if you can't dance to this, you can't do nothing for me baby" - -spice girls _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2001 08:57:36 +1100 From: Daniel G Subject: [oztori] never mind Pate Biscuit... ...does anyone remember Patsy Biscoe? I think they are standard on systems now, but older systems won't have them. They have been standard on the mac for a good couple of years now (mac hardware rocks) if you aren't using a digital vid cam (and i'm assuming you're not), then you need a tv capture card - i have one lying around here somewhere - in fact, i used it to put The Complete Videos onto a CD. You also need some video editing software, and i would recommend Adobe Premiere, which is what i use to use when i did this type of thing.... Another thing you need to remember, video files are huge, so if you are going to be making this at home, you will need to think how the hell you are going to get it to school... IMO, you are going to way much trouble, video capture isn't the easiest of things - in fact, it can be down right messy/annoying/painful... let us all know how you go with it! :) dan. dan@danhirning.com www.danhirning.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2001 09:19:33 +1100 From: Daniel Hirning Subject: Re[2]: [oztori] wealth of knowledge - Dan H (science), Nathan (shit music), Zac (computer stuff), anyone? Dido - it was released in 99, wasn't it? And Nelly F & Madonna 'Music' was definitely last year. To tell the truth, the only album I've bought that was actually released this year was SLG!! All the rest have been from previous years.... like David Bowie & Dire Straits (hee hee, getting into the old stuff.) OH, and I bought Nelly F, Dido & Madonna, as well as Fiona McDonald, Fiona Apple (Tidal and When the Pawn...), Sarah McLachlan (Fumbling...), Loreena McKennit (Book of Secrets).... So shows how much I liked the releases of 2001!! (Admittedly, though, I haven't got Bjork's Vespertine.... that one may be in the books for later on.) bye bye Holly > and that's probably it, i think.
