Next best option is to recycle a picture used on another single previously issued. 4) Design the artwork for the single. It is preferable to include one or 2 spelling mistakes on the sleeve to keep trainspotters on their toes (hello "Have Youself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Blue Raincoat"). It is also preferable to stuff up the credits to (hello "Twinkle" written by Leonard Cohen and "Blue Raincoat" written by Tori Amos). 5) Decide to issue the single in a "limited" 2-CD set, for which the "limited" single ends up being more common than the 'normal' single (hello UK Spark). 6) Decide to abandon the 'limited' release and just go with the one CD option. 7) Decide to postpone the single's release until 3 weeks AFTER the album has come out. God, you don't want people to hear any tracks from the album before they buy it! 8) Decide to not release the single at all (hello UK Raspberry Swirl, Strange Little Girl).. You know it won't really sell many copies anyway, so you may as well cut you losses... even if all the copies have already been pressed. 9) Or be bold and go ahead with the single's release. Only stuff up the track listing on the second CD so that it mirrors that of the first. Then withdraw all copies from the shelves by the second day of retail sales. 10) Flog the mis-pressed CD's to on-line companies such as Esprit, who will claim these mis-pressed versions are "rare" and justifiably sell them for between 10-20 pounds more than the 'correct' pressings (which don't actually exist anyway). Sounds easy, huh? Nathan. . Make a great connection at Yahoo! All these concerts sound just too fantastic to even contemplate. Even remotely beginning to imagine the experience makes me insanely jealous/sad. I bought Beautiful Garbage today... wow... not what I expected. It's good though, I haven't given it a proper listen yet (listening to it in the car on low whilst bitching about people we hate/relationships with a friend is not included as a 'proper listen'). It sounds good though, something I might really like. Grrrr my friend bought me a Sanity voucher... I want HMV!! They at least have stock of decent cd's... I was gonna hit the guy if he said "no, but I can order it in for you" one more time... hehehe. me - "no. I have a voucher, I am going to have to drive 10,000km/h to make it to work on time, I want a CD now. No, I don't have time to browse. No, sorry, I don't have time to listen to some cd's on the headphones. No, I do not like Britney Spears (Andrew exits shop)". Damn Sanity. Ohh Ohh.....and George.... don't diss the guy singer!! His voice is brilliant. People always prefer girls voices in a girl/guy singing combo, because girls voices always sound so much nicer etc etc..... but I love and can highly appreciate a great guy's voice just as much as a girl's. Sure, it's a different sound, but wow..... what an amazing performer. He had everyone's undivided attention, no one spoke a word during his songs, everyone just sat/stood in awe. They're not a file format >i've heard of before... The SHN's are a compressed audio format and you can't listen to them until you you have a program. just quickly this is what you do: - -Go to http://www.etree.org/mkw.html and download that audio compression program. It will convert your SHN's to WAV's - -After you've downloaded all SHN's use the md5 checksum to verify there were no download problems. that file should be listed on the ftp site with all the cuesheets and so forth in the winzip file.....it is important you use the md5 before you go further. to use it you download the md5 file and then right click on it and it should read 'verify' at the top, you click on that and the mkwAudio program will do the rest. - -Right click on all the SHN's and it should say 'convert to wav'.....do that, which takes a little while, and then you should see all your files are in WAV format. you can then listen to them, or burn them to disc or whatever you want to do btw you're lucky you have been downloading so far, I am having heaps of trouble connecting to any of the FTP's because of the user volume today and yesterday xo Gav! np: Aphex Twin - Drukqs ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Oct 2001 15:09:50 +1000 (EST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Bevan=20Burkin?= Subject: Re: [oztori] You put mustard on my hot dawg, all the flamin' time > Hmmmm, I can't think of many guy/girl singing > combinations... only one - > atm - "The Mavis's" - that guy's voice is ok.
