I just thought it was a cool idea having two lead vocals panned to either speaker. >SLG debuted at #7 on the ARIA album charts! Please did anyone NOT see this coming? If every Tori fan buys a cd it sells some, but if every Tori fan buys FOUR COPIES OF THE SAME CD.. *falls off chair laughing* So if we want Tori to come to Australia just get her to wear a different wig to each performance and everyone can come to every show because they will believe if they miss one of them they might miss something important. I can hear people in four years time going "This b-side was first played live during Tori's 'blonde period'". I'm not sure who's worse - Nikki Webster or L'il [Bow Wow] Dan. Actually I thought I would.. erm.. "broaden" my musical experiences by listening to a 2PAC cd. All I have to say is "How bizarre". His "All Eyez (sic) On Me" cd which I assume is a compilation of his "Greatest" (sic) hits seeing as he's been dead for ages is a testimony to the problems experienced by all the "homies": the problems with people playing da game and not playin' da the game; the lack of variety in life ("Everywhere I go I see the same 'ho'"); and the confusion of rappers everywhere who can't decide if "da" game that all "da playaz" are playin' is a good thing or a bad thing. Apparently it IS a good thing as long as you don't get shot/killed. Oh what happened to the good ol' days when Marky Mark accepted the fact he couldn't act and instead hung out with the funky bunch? (I'll let you decide if "Hung out" is a pun or not). Alanis' "Utopia" is getting on my nerves. I guess I should pressing "Play" in realplayer then. I sort of wish Alanis would stay away from her "Folk" inclinations sometimes. She does rock very well, she does pop very well... she just pisses off Joni Mitchell with her folk routine. (Not that there's anything wrong with pissing off Joni, indeed she pisses me off.. so I don't see a problem with it!) I really like a few bootlegged versions of tracks from the new album though.. particularly Fear of Bliss and Narciuss (however it's spelt). Anyway I've only read ONE of the twenty something digests I have to get through so I'll be back with more. Maybe. John justaboi@start.com.au *** Download Sophie B. Somebody, whose comments I read somewhere ages ago, summed it up perfectly - when Little Earthquakes came out, Tori was genuinely a bit of a weird chick. But then, with every subsequent album, she's been a bit more 'deliberate' about it - it's now a bit more 'forced' that it once was - eg. the lyrics that at times go way over the top just to be 'different'/the totally ridiculous answers to interview questions n' stuff. Perhaps it is her way of being a little more 'guarded' about things (by giving totally obscure and seemingly irrelevant answers), considering she was mostly so 'honest' during the interviews/music of the Little Eathquakes era. Yes, some (if not all) of you will violently disagree with me, but Tori's wackiness I feel is a little too 'put on' at times. I'm not 'bagging' her for it though - I do this too - it's great fun. And why not? I sure bet it's way more amusing to give some off the wall answer to some dumb interviewer than rehashing the same tired lines every fucking time you're asked some inane question. I'd do it too if I were her. *oops, my $0.05 on this topic just expired ;) * Nathan. . Make a great connection at Yahoo!
