The French Resistance movement, for Christ's sake? Statements and concepts like those don't do much for the non-Tori fan's opinion of her and her music. They're already thinking she's out there in the English countryside with the faeries and a salaried chef who's mixing some funky mushrooms into the sauce. The skeptics always want to know: Why can't she just use the music-industry buzzwords? Why can't she be like a normal insane rock musician. I have a pressed bootleg, and while it has a brilliant cover n' all.. the sound quality on the disc leaves a bit to be desired (you can soooooo tell it was copied from the LP). I *do* however have a spiffingly good copy of YKTR dubbed onto *cassette* however... Was just wondering if anyone has a good 'un on CD, and if they would be prepared to burn it for me.. As much as I love Tori's crack-speak... It's gotten to the point where.. "Tori, we know you're as weird as pie, and you can ramble off incessantly about nothing like nobody's business.. BUT.. for just ONCE would you please try and say something half-COHERENT goddammit!" I think the crack-ramble has its place in song lyrics, sure. It makes them interesting. But to answer every fucking interview question with some stupid gibberish gets a bit old after a while - eg, in response to the q'n 'what kate bush records do you own?', Tori lists 2 and then splurts, "Where did that ceramic squirrel come from?" She's already proven she's a fruitcake... she doesn't need to ram it down our throats at every opportunity. Nathan. . Listen to your Yahoo! BUT.. for just ONCE would you > please try and say something half-COHERENT goddammit!" > Wowsers, Nath, I don't believe you had the nerve to say that! But.... I fucking completely agree with you!!! It's kind of a case of the Emperor's New Clothes: everyone knows Tori's off her nutter, but everybody is scared to say it... and now finally, here it is, it's out in the open. Yeah yeah, I love Tori to absolute pieces, and I actually do think we'd make good friends (once she got over the fact that I hero-worship & idolize her), but honestly, blowed if I understand a quarter of what comes out of her mouth. I guess with most of the points she makes, it's not the words she says, but more of 'the vibe of the thing'. And every single one of her points are awesome, but I'd love for her to be succinct just once.... but I guess if you love someone, you love the entire package, and you can't be picky and choosey. So here's to crack, mushrooms & Tori-talk... and here's to forever befuddling any reporter stupid enough to ask Tori dumb questions.... I just wanted to tell you that yesterday I partook of a carthartic gardening experience while listening to Boys for Pele which I havent listened to for ages, and is my favourite Tori album, album of all time for that matter. Maybe I cling to that too easily. Listening to More Pink now I know I love this too. Anyway, I ripped so many weeds out from their roots and opened up parts of the yard I had never seen before and exposed fences and accidentally ripped out tomato plants (sob sob) and generally felt it so matched BFP that I had to tell you all about it. Considering what I have let grow over, and what has just run rampant inside myself recently. I feel so strange today, and think it has to do with the Aries full moon currently occurring. Songs I am dying to hear Tori sing live: Mother Yes Anastasia (all of it) Doughnut Song Liquid Diamonds Juarez (again cos it was soooooo good live) Happiness is a Warm Gun and Never Seen Blue Thanks and goodnight jean ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 2 Oct 2001 16:26:21 +1000 From: Holly Williamson Subject: [oztori] Cathartic??
