Strictly speaking, a CD of interview snippets can't be classified as a 'bootleg', because there is no legal copyright restrictions on spoken word. Therefore using Tori's voice without her consent or knowledge of the recording is unauthorised. I think you'll find that makes it a bootleg. Here's what he posted to a message board: the price of freedom I have no idea where to start this post..... I am striken by the full thrust of loss and grief in the most unimaginable way. I am also struck with awe by the demonstration of admirable, beauty, overwhelming strength of the collective human spirit in the face of unreal tragedy, 4 planes......could have been any one of us, anyone you know and love, maybe it was one of us, or someone we know, an office building, could have been our mothers or brothers, and maybe it was......Grief, despare, hurt, anger, mistrust, shit, vile, despicibale darkness......that, and here is the clincher......is in all of us. We are an intimate part of this darkness.....we are all conected, and this is the other side of our the coin. But that being said, men and women that risk their lives everyday (the police and fire departments, ems workers and other civial servants) people everywhere in new york helping each other.....fiends, foe's, sinners and seekers....everyone droping their "shit" in the face of extreme tragedy, coming together and unifying. Compassionate understanding, truth, beauty, perserverence, love, reverence, they are all in us too. And they all sand their songs of grace after yesterdays wicked tragedy. I can picture the people helping one another out of the buildings, the people holding hands on the planes, the brave men and women that I know fought their attackers and died with diginty.......beauty......strength, grace and love.....The strangest thing is in the midst of this hideous tragedy to realize that the world is alot better of a place than we sometimes imagine. Praying: At first I was opposed to praying. Then I thought about it. I was opposed to it due to the strong affiliation it has with organised religion. I realised that it is whatever I want it to be. To quote the dictionary: pray (pr) v. prayed, pray7ing, prays v. intr. 1. To utter or address a prayer or prayers to God, a god, or another object of worship. 2. To make a fervent request or entreaty. I was definately making a fervent request! Sending my well wishes out into the cosmos can't hurt anybody. I've had a terrible day!! Grrr.... I was still a little woozy when I awoke this morning, work was NOT fun at all!! Then I got home tonight and completely forgot I was supposed to be going to see a friend's choir concert tonight at the National Theatre in St Kilda, got a call from a concerned friend "where are you", raced to St Kilda, almost fell asleep many times and got in trouble from the woman sitting in front of me for "eating my fantales too loud" (apparently that's a crime, eating, in the thespian world), and then got dragged out AGAIN tonight!!! Grrr now it's 2am and it feels like I haven't been to sleep in weeks. /end ramble. Last night was fun indeed. I have got to see these photos!! Black-wing - you came and didn't say hello!? SURELY you must have heard Rachael at least, that girl is one noisy party animal. God knows why, but I always thought her to be this quiet, introverted, nutty Tori fan. apparently I was only right about the nutty tori fan bit.... I didn't know you won a CD Rach!! You cow!! I SO wanted one! Grrrr I can't remember what other songs they played, but it was such a cool night, so amazing to hear tori's music playing in a club! Bizarre feeling.... oh, and my friends were Tori fans too, for whoever it was that asked about who there were Tori fans. Too much to say, not enough brain cells... ~Andrew~ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Sep 2001 00:20:30 +0800 From: Ben Hughes Subject: [oztori] not happy, jan!!!
