Makes no > sense... they are > already dead?! They pray in hopes that the spirits of the dead ones are rested, and make their way to Heaven. It's a sentiment more than anything actually spiritual. Think of the dead ones, mourn their families and friends losses, that sort of thing. I don't 'pray' either. I'm no Christian. But, to say 'pray' can also mean send best wishes to the families who are going through some tough shit now. I know it does nothing in the long end, but for some people, it can mean something. More than just sitting there and going 'too bad'. Amen. In that case, all white Australians should recieve the same treatment that the Aboriginies recieved when Cook first landed. 'What goes around comes around'. Jesus Christ, could these people be bigger arseholes. These people in the Twin Towers had shit all to do with whatever was pissing off the hijackers. BTW, I'm not attacking you Becc, just the comment of those people. OMG. It's better than doing nothing! You're giving concern to the families. Sure, it does nothing in the end, but it may help them mentally knowing that people are mourning with them, rather than the entire world saying 'whoopdie-fucking-doo'. Have you never lost anyone Dan? Cause, that's what people do. You mourn the loss of someone, cause they're not around anymore, and heaps of people are sad. Trying to keep hope can make others stronger. I'm surprised that you don't understand the sentiment behind it. This happened in my roommate's sociology class. A student's family friends in NY were having a wedding on the top of the WTC. It was supposed to start at nine in the morning, but the bride was late. Her whole family and the groom's family died. She related the story and immediately after another girl said that the story really scared her because her mom's best friend was a wedding planner for the WTC and they hadn't heard from her. They had been praying there wasn't a wedding that morning. Damn.. damn. that is definitely one of the worst stories I have heard....this just keeps getting worse...=( Neri ------------------------------ End of oztori-digest V1 #151 ****************************
