Favourite Book: Oh jesus. There are so many. 'Gone With The Wind' by Margaret Mitchell, 'Magician' by Raymond Feist, the Elenium/Tamuli by David Eddings, 'the Immortal', 'The Eternal Enemy' and the Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike, 'Judy' by Gerold Frank (I think that's his name - it's a Judy Garland biog) ummm... also 'Watchers' and 'Lightning' by Dean Koontz. I DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU! I have never ever really thought of BFP as Tori's 'break-up album' when I listen to it. Yes, I know that there is that back story - but I find that all the songs are just fantastic. Then I rediscovered it and found the whole beginning-to-end feeling. I have my own 'feelings' that coincide with BFP - I don't associate the album with break-up or Tori and Eric or anything. Frankly I have no idea what image I have of the album as a whole. It is like a novel-album album though. There are 'chapters' to BFP. I get a 'metallic and wood' feel with BFP at times. Even if its just a feel to the song, why don't you like it? to answer this about me, i'm gonna go listen to the song right now to be completely honest and say i've just heard it so my comment is fresh in my head - so here goes - the start is just annoying, i've always hated it, and the tune, just dont like it its happy but depressing, i dunno, to me the tune sounds like its trying to be happy but really is sad, am i making sense? (and man the mood i'm in atm i really didnt need to hear that, u know when u work hard at something and then just get rejected, well i wasnt rejected but i still feel shit) and the lyrics are stupid in my opinion >So shoot me if I've just 'bagged' your fave Tori > choons. ok, so people are always bagging out things i like, and i usually wont say anything unless you tick me off about it, and its also fun b/c i'll get to know heaps about people and they really dont know much about me, but then i am just too quiet li>I like Flying Dutchman but I never really "got" that either... to be completely honest, i dont get the majority of the songs, but then its cool when you r listening to somethign and it just clicks and you are like wow i get it, so there >All I mean is that I had that a little "oooh" phase with all of choirgirl, >except Jackie's Strength. ok, i think this is kinda funny, when i got that album at firts i had spark on repeat and then it was jackies strength and really didnt like the rest of the album but now i think i just skip to iieee since the earlier songs just annoy me atm justaboi>(And is it just me or has Mr. Dylan "Pepsi" Lewis lost his television magic oh god yes, he was hip and happening and now all he is is a dork nathan>Everyone always says "good/fine" etc., when 9 times out of 10, then aren't really... And the person asking "how are you?" never gives a shit anyway. it can start good conversation though, like since im a checkout chic, i am required to ask people how they are, and it really funny when people do start telling you how shit a day they have had especically when you dont care, like dont they know i dont care, and whats even funnier is people who always come in and say the same old thing - like theres this one guy who is always 'perfect' with a huge smile on his face - he just cracks me up and i'm waiting for the day that he'll be horrible and then theres this other guy who is always 'miserable' and i'm waiting for the day he'll come in and say hes wonderful. But what is bloody annoying is when you are walking along and smile or do say hello and the person ignores u, u try to be friendly and people are just rude, that is so annoying nathan>People who are dumb and try every 'natural remedy'/'alternative therapy' under the sun, thinking it will do them some good. i think its all psychological, like a placebo effect thigy, you think it is gonna be good for you but our mind is thinking that so you will get better, but if you dont have complete faith in whatever you are doing taking then it wont work, nathan>4) Our education system. dont even get me started on this one >>Even though I like Space Dog, I don't think I ever > > "got" it in the >>same way > > as some.... Well I happened to catch an ep last year and - it was pretty good - darn good infact! So I slowly borrowed out all of season 1 and then caught up with the TV... THE MOVIE IS S_H_I_T_E the series is wonderful. It is better than Star Trek: Voyager - infact it is one of the best TV shows up there with Buffy. You have to WATCH these shows - at least 3 episodes - to get a feel for them and their characters - and then you could comment. I also didn't watch it because of Richard Dean MacGyver Anderson - well watching this show - I couldn't even compare those two characters/shows after seeing Stargate-SG1. So give it a go. P.S. I was only really asking about who liked Buffy - I gathered no one here watched SG1 - cause no one replied with my request for the last two week's episodes that I bloody missed. :o) I didn't like the idea of Buffy - a show based on an even BIGGER flop of a movie - but now it is simply fantastic television DRAMA (with Vampires). Both shows have pretty much NOTHING to do with their 'flop' movies - they are better and have taken on a life of their own. Can anyone think of a TV series that has been successful from a NON-FLOP movie? OK M*A*S*H but think of something else. P.P.S. Watching the "Stargate" movie now after 3 or so seasons of "Stargate-SG1" makes the movie better... not THAT much - but I too can watch the whole movie. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 10:10:46 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: [oztori] Oh. Dear. Dad woke us up - well my Brother for work and mentioned to us about the news. My first thought "what a complete and utter disreguard for human life". My brother was a bit hysterical cause, well he has said that "an attack on New York" has been prophesised in end of the world prophecies. Scary Stuff. I just can't get how ANYONE could justify the actions of what has happened. I mean it'd do NO GOOD for the people who did it. They have basically recieved world-wide condemnation for these barbaric actions. The stock-market is down - so that's not going to help them economically. Madness. Stupidity. Gutlessness. Horror. Inhuman. I feel for the people in those buildings (I would assume that they got everyone out of the second building and surrounding buildings after the first was hit) The people in the first building and on those planes TOO! Ugh. Such a WASTE. Did anyone see the footage from an amateur cameraman from just below the WTC when the second plane hit - it just went straight into the building as if it wasn't there - and didn't come out the otherside. It is like something out of a movie. In fact the scary thing is - - did anyone see the first episode of The X-Files spinoff - "The Lone Gunmen" this exact same thing happened... well except they averted disaster and the plane was controlled by a person by proxy using a computer. It is horrific what happened - but does anyone think that cool heads must prevail in the aftermath of such a catastrophe!?! I had to turn the TV off before... it was too much over and over again - escpecially with Foxtel's Fox News, CNN, Sky, BBC World, the ABC, SBS, Nine, Seven AND Ten covering it. My thoughts, sympathies and prayers, go out to those dead and their families too. Peace. Can you imagine what it would be like to be in the WTO buildings, knowing everything's falling apart around you? Do you jump (like so many did) or do you sit tight? They both sort of end up the same way, so how do you decide? I was writing an email to a friend in which this event was mentioned and I searched for a quote that seemed relevant. All I came up with was: "And they said Marianne killed herself And I said not a chance - not a chance" You can watch the news (like I did for a few hours of the very early morning), although I found it more interesting to hear from all the people posting messages at www.opendiary.com.
