I saw it, and Bjork just looked all deformed and mangled, and somewhat scary. But not scary in an artistic way, just plain old scary. I dunno, Daniel H, about your comments about SLG... I don't think you can write anything off that you haven't heard. I was just thinking about this in the shower, like, I think I'll treat this is a covers album, and not a Tori album. I mean, pretty much all she's done is glorious to me, so I'm sure I'll like some, if not most of the songs. I've liked all of what I have heard now, and am excited at the fact that none of the songs seem alike, in terms of the music and flow, in any way. That's pretty exciting to me, because it says that we're in for a mixed bag of songs, something for everyone! You can't judge a CD by it's "cover".... hahahahah I just thought of that myself hahaha I'm so funny.... oh.... time to go to the pub, I feel. ~Andrew~ [who is feeling mighty better!! Let's hope that she will release an actual cd that is hers soon after, that would be awesome. And i also agree, that if nothing else, this CD is extremely exciting in that every song we have so far heard is different - very different - - and the CD will no doubt feature 'something for everybody' (copyright baz lurhman i do believe) and no you can't judge anything by its cover (what a pathetic pun :) But we have 4 covers to be judging this album by, and none of them are really particularly special or anything. Question - if you had never heard of tori before in your life, and you heard one of these songs on the radio... - would you go out and buy the cd? If i *did* buy it, its only cause its a female vocalist.. and I'm a sucker for females (vocalists or for other reasons.. :) I do however, stand by my initial statement that i don't think the album will be very impressive - far FAR more commercial, yes - but unimpressive all the same. it doesn't really have the 'growth' like all the other tori cds have (its just all her sounds all merged into (and onto of) the one cd) - the lyrics aren't the usual 'WTF does she mean by that?' type of thing (because they aren't hers), and none of these tracks have the thing in them (not that i know what that 'thing' is) that made me initially take notice of tori in the first place... so, now I will stop rambling, what would i know, after all, i am only an engineer... The chick (Katie is it?) has the most amazing voice and presence. It was quite an orgasmic experience at times. Everyone should go see them. I am inspired to go out and buy recorded products. Speaking of recorded products, it was market day at Uni on Tuesday, so I blew another $200 on CDs, but picked up some real funky shit: Air - 10,000Hz Legend Belly - Star (Promo Digipak) Bettie Serveert - Dust Bunnies Crowded House - Recurring Dream (w/Bonus Disc) Luscious Jackson - In Search of Manny + Daughters of the Kaos (Promo) Morcheeba - Who Can You Trust? Beth Orton - Best Bit (EP Digipak) Paradise Motel - Still Life Cat Power - The Covers Record Shea Seger - The May Street Project Single Gun Theory - Flow, River of My Soul (w/Bonus Disc) Incidentally, 10,000Hz legend features vocals on Tr.6 by Lisa Papineau, who, as you will all recall, was the voice of Pet (the one where Tori Exec Produced the album...), which sums up my Tori relevance for the day. Keep well and see George. Compassion, Jason xoxoxooxoxoo PS for DUDE: What's this about moving out of home soon? Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Yahoo!
