Then there's the Buffy-esque strings... > and then the mother comes back in with the "there is heaven and hell and > prison and jail" Then the Buffy strings again and its back to the father > talking about helping the little girl with the mother out of the trunk etc... This is pretty much what I got from the song...although, sometimes when she is saying the daddy parts it's like, almost like she is takin' on the role of the father as the ghost..like, talking through him to the little girl or something, because the part when she says "Don't worry about that little boo boo on her throat, it's just a scratch", it sounds more like the woman to me....I dunno why, it just does. > What does anyone else think? Has Tori changed anything from the original? Nope, she has pretty much done the same lyrics. > I really don't want to hear any of the originals of any of the songs - at > least not until I've heard the album - cause these songs all feel 'Tori' to > me. I mean even though Tori covers the widely known "Smells Like..." When > you hear the song - I think TORI not NIRVANA... even Loosing My Religion. hmm..I like both versions of those songs, for different reasons, and, actually, when I heard Eminem's version of '97 Bonnie & Clyde, it made me like Tori's version more, and it actually made me "get" it more as well..like, the point of it was even more clear to me...cause, Eminem's version is so cold, and he sings it like he is almost laughing about it and that he is happy about the content of the song and what's happening, whereas Tori, she puts the darkness and morbid feel to the song and it's a very sad and disturbing version compared to Eminem's. So, it gives you both sides..man and woman....even more, than if you just listened to one version and not the other, so, when you get the album, maybe it's worth a listen? =P Anyways, that's just my thoughts! I love '97 B&C!!!! Love Neri =8O) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2001 03:50:47 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan R Subject: [oztori] isn't it ironic, doncha think? When she's saying that horrible stuff in the verses, I think she's almost being sarcastic in a way - eg. 'oh that smell, dada musta runned over a skunk' - is like she's saying, "what a dick dada is.. he thinks he just got rid of me, but now I'm back to haunt his ass and make his life hell". I think the woman's totally come back as this possessed, evil ghost who's going to get revenge. Just my 2 cents' worth. Nathan. . Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Yahoo!
