If you did not, here is what transpired: On the show, Oprah asked Tommy Hilfiger if the statements about race he was accused of saying were true. Statements like "...if I'd known African-Americans, Hispanics, Jewish and Asians would buy my clothes, I would not have made them so nice. I wish these people would *NOT* buy my clothes, as they are made for upper class white people." His answer to Oprah was a simple "YES." Oprah immediately asked him to leave her show. Let's give Tommy Hilfiger what he asked for. Let's not buy his clothes. Let's put him in a financial state where he himself will not be able to afford the ridiculous prices he puts on his clothes. OMG that was so funny.... no more than 5 mins before I got this email, I was talking to a friend and he was saying "I really want that remix CD of Sarah McLachlan, but it's only available in Canada and they won't send it out here". Hahaha that was so funny, I rang him back and he was soooo happy about the news. George... I'm hanging out for this album. I've got high hopes for that band, I think they'll do really well. The singer (I can't remember her name) has got such a good voice! Hmmm... checked thedent for any Tori news, none really, other than that artist direct aren't doing the toriamos.com site anymore (which is great because it means that stuff will actually happen on that website - it's been the same for about two years now). So there's new webmasters in place who seem to be doing some exciting things with it. The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. ~Andrew~ - -----Original Message----- From: owner-oztori@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oztori@smoe.org]On Behalf Of heidi maier Sent: Friday, 27 July 2001 1:07 AM To: oztori@smoe.org Subject: [oztori] Re: oztori-digest V1 #83 andrew wrote: > Sarah McLachlan has a new album coming out!? waaaaaaa!!! wow I didn't know > either... it's not a new album, per se, but rather an album of remixes that was originally intended for release in canada (via nettwerk) only; though it is now being released elsewhere too. it was released in canada a couple of months ago. according to the last update from her record company, sent to the sarah list (fte), she is taking it slowly in terms of writing and recording. she will be at the toronto film festival soon though, for the premiere of a documentary filmed during lilith fair in 1999. heidi. - ------ "i want so much to write well, though i know i don't ... but during and at the end of my life, i will adore those who have." -- *dorothy parker* * heidi maier - maier@joynet.com.au * ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2001 01:09:49 From: "Mike Champ" Subject: [none] can anyone please summatrize the Sydney Tori party details for me please.. ta * - - * / \/ \ | | \ / * \ / \ / * \ / \ / \ / \/ * - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2001 16:37:27 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: [oztori] '97 Bonny & Clyde... Just wondering about the 'man' and the 'woman' in this track... I'm gathering that the sweeter voice is the mother - at the very start. Then it's the southern hick father? Then there's the Buffy-esque strings... and then the mother comes back in with the "there is heaven and hell and prison and jail" Then the Buffy strings again and its back to the father talking about helping the little girl with the mother out of the trunk etc... What does anyone else think? Has Tori changed anything from the original? I really don't want to hear any of the originals of any of the songs - at least not until I've heard the album - cause these songs all feel 'Tori' to me. I mean even though Tori covers the widely known "Smells Like..." When you hear the song - I think TORI not NIRVANA... even Loosing My Religion. ------------------------------ End of oztori-digest V1 #84 ***************************
