Firstly, T shirts. We voted on the design, we got a good response, we had a winning design. Then someone came up with another idea and people said "yeah that's a cool idea!". So what are we doing people? I kinda need an answer. Sorry, but I thought we had quite a bit of time to organise and share ideas, and vote on them too, in my opinion it's a little late to be going and changing everything. Let me know what you think, they are YOUR t shirts afterall, I just want to see them get done as quickly as possible. Secondly, I nearly died today! I was driving along the Tullamarine Freeway coming back from the airport, when a truck that was in the lane next to me (and just a few metres in front of me) hit the top of a bridge and overturned right in front of me! Another few metres and it would have been minced Andrew for breakfast this morning. It was so terrifying, just seeing a truck suddenly smash into a bridge and then crash onto it's side only a few metres ahead. I'm lucky I got new tires a couple of weeks ago, otherwise I would have skidded right into it. The truck driver was ok, we had to help him out of his cab. The truck was completely and utterly fucked. I was shaking for a good couple of hours afterwards, and I don't remember driving home. I only vaguely remember visiting my Dad in hospital on the way home!! Thirdly, I'm going to be brave and stick up for religion. I'm a Catholic and I belong to a Christian youth group. It's not all that strict, at all really, it's just heaps of fun. Some of you have probably heard of it, it's called Antioch. Anyway, although I don't agree with what some of the Catholic Church believes in, I'm still a believer. Please, I don't want to hear about how shitty the Catholic Church is, I'm not stupid, I do know what's wrong with it. Fourthly... ummm.... yeah. Job interview tomorrow, say a prayer or cross your fingers - whichever applies. Fifthly, the DJ at a party I went to on Saturday night played Pro Widow, which was a bit funny seeing as the crowd weren't really...well....all there (it was a bogan party). It's not all > that strict, at all > really, it's just heaps of fun. You see this is where some parishes are just totally screwed. I've heard of Antioch, yeah, but thats about it. And I never believed most of what the church thought and preached. Personally, I think Easter is a big sham - I prefer the whole pagan life thing for Easter [which, incidentally, is happening at the wrong end of the year for southern hemisphere]. But I digress and someone who knows more about it is probably about to prove me wrong. But what got me totally pissed off about the church was my parish. The priest is a really really REALLY old codger who had been there for about 40 years or so [and I haven't been to church since about late 99...although I still go at Christmas, thats the one part I like]. Anyways he was totally against anything in any way different. Buddhism was bad apparently. And when he went on leave, we got a new priest [who actually used to be pastor of my aunt's parish in Brisbane! talk about small world!] who was totally pro-everything [exaggeration, but you know what i mean] and a youth group started and it was actually fun to go to church - - i totally enjoyed it!!! not so much for the religion, but for the social aspect. then breslan came back and started to interfere and sermons were boring again and we all stopped going to church. That, and the fact that I started to work sundays, probably didn't help. But largely I didn't mind church. I'll stop now, this is just totally the wrong place for a discussion like this. Or is it? Suffice to say, i think all religious bodies should "get with it" as it were. ===== people honk at me i shake my fist sometimes give them the finger i don't know why i always lie to you - - jane siberry "barkis is willing" Get your free @yahoo.co.uk address at http://mail.yahoo.co.uk or your free @yahoo.ie address at http://mail.yahoo.ie ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2001 20:10:13 +1000 From: "li" Subject: Re: [oztori] Five things! Actually - i can't believe i have stayed onlist for 3, close to 4 years!! eep! anyways - i watched buffy - it was good - buffy (the real one) kissed spikey-wikey!!!!!! (never mind me i've had quite a few midori's - ugh! dont know why i drink it i don't like it - and i was watching that ad with the woman who speaks that disgusting baby talk all the time. If anyone did that around Maddi i'd just think they were complete idiots! So would she - she gets this whole "what the fuck do you think your doing" look on her face...and i've completely sidetracked myself again) going now. kate - --- "Give me life, give me pain, give me myself again" - Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 00:41:37 +1000 From: "Kate Findlay" Subject: Re: [oztori] Toodles Mr. Gym > CHEESY POP: I'd like to hear Nelly Furtado yadda yadda yadda... may i just say PTHHHHHTHTHTHTHT to you! I don't think Nelly is cheesy pop at all! She isn't really pop based music - she has heaps of different sounds - but none of them are really pop (or bubble or - shit what was the other one???) - or cheesy! i guess i'm like a bird is catchy - but not pop!!! I must say that this is not because i refuse to like pop music - i happen to be a Britney fan! and Spice Girls in the Geri era - oh and i love Geri's "It's raining men" cover - although the rest of the album is shite...and the list sorta goes on (not too long but a little further...) so yeah!! pthththththth to you! oh - and about fourplay - that would be nice :) umm - will answer questions properly once brain is functioning again... kate - --- "Give me life, give me pain, give me myself again" - Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2001 19:57:03 +1000 From: "Stephen Poole" Subject: [oztori] Buffy + Djavan Gasparyan? Was I imagining it, or was it Djavan Gasparyan playing the background music during the shamanic quest sequences tonight? No Datura ingested on screen, so Tori content AWOL. Spike's desired responses from the robot were in *ahem* slightly dubious taste, but very funny IMO... One of the best episodes yet, I kinda liked Buffy-the-robot and the Terminator-ish digi-readouts. Perhaps Arnie should do a cameo - or SMG should be in the next Schwarzenegotist flick. Oh, that's me just keeping up that Nathan joke... it was just something to do ;o) I mean 1982... that is a long ways ago - yet I have many memories... my earliest memory, I reckon would be when I was 1, that'd prollay make it 1979 (with zipper blues etc. :l) or 1980! We were living in Melbourne then, (I was born there you know). (I'm sure you didn't know - unless someone here knows a little too much about my history) ;o) > i >think i would be right in assuming that when i joined this list i was >only a young 16 year old and am now bravely facing 20 (well - semi- >bravely) and thinking SHIT HOW THE FUCK DID 4 YEARS >ESCAPE ME THAT EASILY????? FARK! Has OzTori been going 4 years! LOL! Nearly time for the 5th Anniversary special! Maybe on the tee-shirt we could have something like "established 1997" or whatever - a lot of those companies - yes *those* companies have that... Ugh, covering Tori would just be Wrong. Some things are just sacred. :-P Nah, seriously: Tori's stuff is too personal. You couldn't possibly re-do one of her songs and ever manage to squeeze into it the emotion that Tori does, the type that can only come of personal experience of what she's singing about. Her stuff is uniquely hers, and nobody can do it like her. Which is what makes her so good. But I'm preaching to the converted, aren't I! ;-) ~Becc :) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 01:50:22 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: [oztori] Cheesy Poofs HMMMMM Ricky Martin covering Blood Roses!?! Scored by Christophe Beck (That was an episode I SO want them to release on CD) and Thomas Wanker does the music this season - I was a little dubious about Beck not doing the music - but he [Wanker] has done a fantastic job so far. >Spike's desired responses from the robot were in *ahem* slightly dubious >taste, but very funny IMO...
