You use Britney as an example - yet even she has never toured australia - and she is certainly financially successful enough to warrant one. From what i have been told - her 94 tour here broke even - no profit, no loss. The record company wasn't all that interested in putting so much time and effort into bringing her out here again just to break even. Since 94 she has stepped out of the mainstream limelight (no hits like Cornflake Girl - and no - pro widow doesn't count...) So people who would have gone to the shows then might not go now because "oh - she's the one who did cornflake girl right? yeah - i liked that song when i was little" or whatever. It isn't financially viable for her record company to bring her out again - especially with the way the dollar is at the moment. They'd have to charge around $80 per ticket (and fill at least the state theatre) to break even. It's not just as easy as "she has some fans - lets bring her out here" - although i wish it was! This isn't just coming from little old me - i had a long conversation with my Warner Rep about it and he said there was no chance in a tour. He said the only thing they would bring her out for would be a promo tour so she can do the today show and shit like that. I've just got a question re the pics and stuff on the t. with the whole printing thing - I've done a t. before going to one of those photocopy places - where they actually use a complex picture... the problem is it turns out to be a 'block'/'square' shape.
