"australian story" on the abc devoted a show to her in 1997. she wrote a book ("gas smells awful") about major depressive illness, and anybody who has suffered from any such affliction will likely find much to relate to and laugh at, in a dark, ironic way. it is wonderfully written. she has also written columns and pieces for various newspapers over the time -- most notably the age and the weekend australian. in 1999 she was a guest at the brisbane writers festival, and said that she was working on a novel to be published by random house, and tentatively titled "fat." she's a fabulous woman :) h. - ------ "i want so much to write well, though i know i don't ... but during and at the end of my life, i will adore those who have." -- *dorothy parker* * heidi maier - maier@joynet.com.au * ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 May 2001 02:38:28 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan R Subject: [oztori] OT-ish (kinda): worse than yahoo I've sent 2 e-mails to this list that haven't yet gone through (yay! scream the oztori collective) - one a few hours back, and the other nearly 24 hours ago! Nerida, I agree with you re the T Shirt thing...if there are too many designs to choose from, it does get a bit confusing (like this email - sorry a little emotional atm, best friend flying to UK tomorrow). What about tying the logo design and T Shirt design together so that one complements the other? (Spoken like a true gay boy!) Dylan "I came around to tear your little world apart..." The same question came up on another mailing list i'm on today... there is a program called 'Pop-up Stopper', get it @ http://www.panicware.com/product_dpps.html It is suppose to be really good, never used it though. ennui making the humorous comparison of a wannabe engineer to Dilbert... > "Everybody stand back - he's becoming disgruntled!" > The similarity is uncanny. What about tying the logo > design and T Shirt design together so that one complements the other? Because the logo is a permenant thing to go on the websites and our websites to show we are a member of oztori. It's like our identity for everyone else to recognise us by. The tshirt design is just a cool thing that has no extended significance. Sure, the tshirt font and colours can be changed I guess to match the logo, but I think the logo is the more important thing in terms of design.
