Hi everyone (again). Ok, after having a meeting with my sister, I have decided to go and get some prices on T-shirts. My sister was president of her student union and has run in many campaigns, consequently having much experience in getting t shirts printed with various political slogan emblazoned across them. Ok point being, she's had to resource some good T-shirt printers, whilst keeping a tight budget in mind. She's also made some good contacts in this area too, contacts which I'll be able to use. However, I also asked her about the sorts of designs and the costs involved (estimates) and she said the more colours that would be on the design, the more expensive the t shirt production and the lower the quality. She's put me onto a really good one (for instance she showed me some t shirts she's had for years and they are still in perfect nick - no fading whatsoever!) and I don't mind going and getting a price. This place also provides T shirts, seemingly at little cost, in a vast array of colours. Coloured sleeves would be more expensive, however, and I think it's best to stick to one tone t shirts. So... what I am asking is, I need a rough guestimate on the numbers.... how many people would be willing to purchase a T shirt at $20? (rough price only) I need to know because it'll go towards bargaining a deal with the printer. The more t shirts, the cheaper they will be. Also, what I would like to do would be to go to the printer with a design of the shirt. Would it be at all possible to vote, soon, on the design and quotes, so that it can be put together? That way I can take it into the printer, show them, get advice on the design on how to improve it to make it better quality, My sister told me she's gotten excellent quality t shirts made from this place for under $10. Obviously our design will be a little more technical than the ones she showed me, but if we can agree on a simple design and t shirt colour I should be able to get the ball rolling on the production. So, it's voting time I guess?? No promises though, all I am going to do is get a price. I don't guarantee it's going to be cheap, but I'll do my best. Like I said I'll be able to use my sister's contacts on this one. If we all agree to that price then I am quite happy to go and get them done, but that will come later. I just want to see these t shirts completed!!!! BTW - In regards to stating your keen interest in purchasing a t shirt, reply to me personally so that not EVERYONE has to get emails saying "yes I'm in". I'll give you two weeks to get back to me letting me know if you want one or not, that way people who don't check their email regularly have time to get back to me. Also, tell me if you have any problems with my suggested plan of attack? Thanks, ~Andrew~ In other news, my mum and dad have got this couple over for dinner... they haven't stopped fighting (the guests) since they got here! All I want to know is that you are interested in getting a t shirt made for you. Of course you are under no obligation, after pricing, to take it! I just need rough idea of how many people are interested so that I can take that number to the printer and get a cost. Dan, can we organise some sort of voting thing for the designs? Perhaps the artists of the designs can choose some finalised ones - no changing of the quotes etc. if we want to - so that people can vote for them? I'm not sure, what do people think? Are we happy to let the artists finalise their designs for us, so that we can vote? Oh and another thing, after more thought, I also feel I should point out that this isn't going to be a quick exercise. Voting will take some time, and then after that, some changes may need to be made to the design etc etc.... basically, don't expect to be sporting your new and cool Tori t shirt this weekend, showing your new clothing range off to all your not-so-cool non-tori-t-shirt wearing friends. : - ) Night all! Feeling in a replying mood this day, ennui set about composing thoughts and scanning mails to form the following. Alana ("al-ar-na" "a-lane-a" :) had the unmitigated gall to scribe: > So that would make about...5? 6?(so far) of us here in Perth. And really > who lives in Perth that doesn't actually want to leave Perth? I moved to Perth so I guess that means I actually want to live here (there? can one speak of cities in the third person?) But then, I lived in a swamp with two AM stations and a pocket full of leaches, so I don't know that I'm a reliable narrator ;) Although I don't know why people would necessarily wish to leave, it's a nice place. I have a plan to move to New York, take up Seymour Glass' old flat, and each Tuesday night wander down to the Bowery Ballroom to jam with the 'Giants - this dream does not necessarily imply that New York is a 'nice place'. AndrewrrrRRRrrr... >lunch bag to hold, went into the toilets, climbed out the window, >and never came back? Sorry, no you see he gave her the paper bag so that he'd have to meet her again to get it - even social misfits who have the ability to twist and writhe about like a jello on stage, may sometimes feel so overwhelmed that they simply run away, I suppose. At least he didn't feel the urge to throw a stone, which scarred her cheek... Then Nathan(Ithinkyouallknowwhichone) and small.D traded nits & picks... >i should also point out, that good spelling to me means NOTHING, i >couldn't care less how many spelling mistakes are in my emails (or in >anyone else's) - or in anything else i write or type... >Correct, down to the letter spelling, seems to be a rather pointless >exercise IMO. "Everybody stand back - he's becoming disgruntled!" The similarity is uncanny. I wonder, do you also have a permanently erect tie and a tummy which looks like a bum? ;) Goodbye, goodbye, good friends goodbye! ennui [green, mean, and deciduous] I wonder if I might (simply in footnote and simply because the space was free) beg your valuable time for a moment in critiquing the following: "I'd seen the same eyes, I remember now, in the picture of a woman who had made her living in pre-war Berlin as a mistress, but who had disappeared shortly after the photo was taken. Then too it had seemed her eyes were familiar. No matter. Adjust the fold of my dress, check teeth in the coffee pot's reflection for stray flecks of mint, arise - I wonder if she might also be planning to see the new French film?" I'm asking because it's due in.. 51 hours (agk brain:hurt). Basically I just wanted to know from those of the female persuasion (and others who have taken to, at some point in time, wearing a dress) - does it work? Is it possible to "adjust the fold of my dress"? It's the very first time in the story that the character's gender is stated plainly and I wanted it to just slip in there inconspicuously - do girls even check their teeth for bits of mint after they've eaten? I know some don't ;) or is it way too cliched? Any suggestions gladly, and with much bowing and excessive thanking, accepted. Thanking. _ ------------------------------ End of oztori-digest V1 #22 ***************************
