Books! I breathe books, cover them in a thick field of white sugar and devour them! I've just finished 'Beard's Roman Women' by that man himself Anthony Burgess and now I've started on Tacitus' 'The Annals of Imperial Rome' - a coincidence I assure you, although having a thing for Romans wouldn't be such a bad.. err.. thing. Tori should get a mention here. She really should have her own book club, Tool have a 'recommended reading' section in their fanzine - and yes, hidden booklets sound cool, but I didn't know of't , was listening to 'Ok Computer' today and I love it and all but it's missing something, doesn't make moi go weak at the knees the way Tori's tunes do, I don't know.. Actually, I'm looking at a pile of books in the corner of the room and there's a copy of 'All Quiet On The Western Front', has anyone read that, I think that might be my next read - $2 book fairs are evil for getting any work done :) And to the person who said they were reading 'Franny and Zooey' big thumbs up - I have an HTML version of '22 Stories' if you'd like a copy (don't let JD know though). [She's a school librarian and I've had to sit through listening her read the SAME picture book three times already this morning. I think my brain might implode. Some kid is saying "Narnia" repeatedly now. Kids! *rolls eyes* Anyways. BOOKS - Yes! Harry Potter rules. I love it!!!! I can't wait for the movie. I just hope it matches the book [it won't, of course, but still]. It's British at least so theres more than a 0.02% chance of it at least having the same plot and characters. Kate - Can I get "Good Omens" off you? And I think you've still got my "So Long And Thanks For All the Fish" too. AND Simona & Mitra's Alanis Hat - they want it! lol. Give me a call to arrange pickup, &c. BLANKET FRIENDS - I'm with Kate's huddled under blanket tents image. I remember making one of those one day. Then I had to actually clean it up and that totally spoiled the whole mess-making thing I was about at that age. BUFFY - Its on at 11:30 tomorrow. Doesn't that SUCK??? Also my Buffy friends [ie - Kate & Jason...] I'm thinking of having a Buffy night...what do you think? TORI'S SESSIONS - Saturday Night/Sunday Morning of the 27th [Not sure of date, sure its Satureday Night/Sunday Morning of this weekend]. At about 3am. Check your guides - I think WIN has it differently not sure. PJ'S SESSIONS - Yes, a copy anyone? Someone? Hello? *poke* THE WEATHER - My god it's cold. Trying to take a little holiday. I need a break in the weather. Trying to take a little break for the very first time. MY UNI HOMEWORK - I have to, if I can, find an example of a song where the voice ISN'T the main melody. The closest I can come is "Girl" by PJ Harvey [where voice echoes guitar] and "Sick For Toys" by the Sugarcubes which doesn't really have a melody, its just Einar saying crap. Then there's the plain ol' instrumentals, but they're too easy. If anyone can think of one...Also, can anyone recommend any good reference books &/or webpages about music production techniques in general, as well as those used specifically by Tchad Blake? I'M BORED - Can't you tell? This mail is just going to keep on keeping on I'm sure. LIST STUFF - A few people have been mailing to yahoo! Tsk tsk! ;) Also, what someone said just before was a good reminder - PLEASE don't quote whole mails [or whole males either, unless it takes your fancy] when commenting on what someone has said. SOMETHING - I had something to say, but I've forgotten. And I have to go now. there is a class coming to the library who need the computers. I should've stayed at home.
