There were 12 total original issues. Then a further 2 or 3 a year or two later, done by a different group of fans. If anyone knows the whereabouts of my fellow co-editors Anna, Kelli, and Richard... I'd love to know!! Darren At 06:19 AM 4/27/2008, Helen Bartlett wrote: >Having a clearout, and have got the first four of these (were there >ever any more?) WOW, what a treat! It was 10 years (in December) since the last DA show in New York, and now twice in 4 months! My wife and I were front and center, this time booking our dinner reservations on the day the tickets were released. Seeing how the club didn't mind cameras last time, I decided to bring my video camera and set up a nice little tripod on the table - I think Justin even played it up a bit to the camera! I made the DVD this morning, and I am floored by the way it turned out. The lighting in the club wasn't the greatest, but the picture and sound are great! Some great songs not played in December, and even a few audible's in the setlist. One of them coming by request from my wife, "Sleep instead of teardrops" (or has that now been renamed "The Funeral Song") LOL. Great audience too...except for the end when I was "1/2 jokingly" threatened by the woman sitting next to us "I better not see that up on EBAY".. "Please" I told her. "I've been coming to see DA since 1988, and was one of the original tape traders back in the day...TRADE being the key word." Anyway, we met a great guy named James who was there with his two boys. They were over from England to enjoy the show. Also, great to see my old friend Andrew from Brooklyn at the show! How cool is it to see Justin in these small clubs??? Anyway, I'd love to hear anyone else thoughts, comments, shout outs who was at the show last night. They said it was sold out at the door, but it felt like at least 25 people less than the show in December (club only holds 150). Very funny moment during the show. The screen on Justin's Ipod went black and he thought that the drum track for "Driving with the brakes on" was off...It took him and Peter a few tries before they realized it was in fact the right drum beat...very funny! "Is there any technicians from Apple in the crowd?" Anyway, I managed to swipe a setlist off the stage... What Is Love For? Not So Sentimental Now Always the Last to Know Tell Her This Make It Always Be Too Late Something in that Mess Still in Love Be My Downfall OUT OF MY CONTROL (By request - Not on setlist) Gold Dust Not Where It's At As Long As You Don't Come Back In the Frame Driving with the Brakes On No, Surrender Encore: Being Somebody Else If I Ever Loved You (On Setlist but NOT played) Nothing Ever Happens (On Setlist but NOT played) SLEEP INSTEAD OF TEARDROPS (By request - Not on setlist) **************Need a new ride? We New Yorkers have been spoiled, as this is JC's third appearance in the city in the last 8 months, or something like that. > From: Twochucks@aol.com> Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2008 21:04:05 -0400> Subject: OV: Joe's Pub - NYC - April 26, 2008> To: oppositeview@smoe.org; oppositeview-digest@smoe.org> > GREAT SHOW!
