He had a great reception and spent a lot of time chatting to the crowd. He did a good mix of old favourites, songs from the new album and also two 'brand new songs'. One of these was entitled something like 'Tonight I'm going to Hurt Everyone I love' which was a full rock-out screaming rant, which ended with Justin lying on his keyboard. Magic. He also did a short 'unplugged' section, taking requests from the audience. We got the first verse and chorus of 'Fred Partington's daughter' (he needed some help with the lyrics), the start of 'Evidence' (I shouted him some lines when he forgot what came next) and he attempted 'In the Meantime' but he couldn't remember what key to play it in, and the hecklers put him off! 'No, Surrender' has to be heard live, there is no comparison with the album track. Hard to describe but at one point Justin went from crouching on the floor singing into his mic, to lying down as his mic slowly slipped down the stand. Really funny for the first few rows, I wonder what everyone else thought he was doing... The band were excellent, same guys as his last tour (January) but seemed much more relaxed and having a lot more fun together this time. I'll finish with a request from Justin 'Don't shout for a song if you don't know the first line' as he needs that to help him remember some of the older stuff. I was at the gig with my partner and we loved every minute! Great to hear Justin on top form doing the Del boy's tracks! My partner was the one who shouted "Where've you been Justin!?!" To which Justin replied "I was here in f**kin' January..." Ha! My partner was referring to the last 5 years since the Dels 'Can you do me good?' album... "When I want you" was the opening track! Awesome! Bring on Liverpool Academy tonight... Justin Currie two nights on the run... I'm in heaven! p.s You forgot to mention the great rendition of Kylie's "I should be so lucky!" Well... He sang the chorus anyway... Great man and a great sense of humour! Leanne anna maclese wrote: Just delurking to let everyone know that Justin was on fine form last night in Manchester.
