(missed the beginning, and annoyingly, the very end) All videos are downloadable. If the site runs slow, just check back again later. The link again is: http://gallery.mac.com/peconic.sky I also have "Tell Her This" and "Be My Downfall", but these have more ear-splitting off-key accompaniment in parts. I'll have some beers to drown my wounded ego before uploading these... On another note, my good friend (and semi-Dels fan) Jon caught the show in San Francisco last Friday at RickShaw Stop. He said there were only 10 or 15 people in the audience! People watched from the sides of the room while Justin played to a mostly open floor. While Jon was waiting for Justin to take the stage, he and I text messaged the following: Jon: "At Currie show, should start in ten mins. I'll try not to sing along, ahhh" (nice dig, Jon) Me: "But if he plays "Nothing Ever Happens", then you'll HAVE to "sing along like before" Jon: "Hasn't started yet. He's been talkin to two birds at the bar for twenty mins" Me: "Tell him: "Whole generations thinking of themselves as infidels and pop stars, while the bomb loses patience we just line up and lean against the bar" Jon: "I think that's a little long. He's 5 ft from me now" Jon: "Showed him your text, he said he recognized the quote! Told him you saw him at the living room" Jon: "He's playin now. Lata" I got a kick out of that considering I didn't wait around after the NYC show to talk to him (mostly because I would hardly know what to say!). Jon said that Justin was very friendly and kind, and he spoke to him after the show as well. Now he's super-stoked and on his way to becoming a hard core JC fan. I guess it's because of the non-existence of shows here in Australia that I would move heaven and earth to get to one here... I can't say that I would have the same dedication as Sandro though! Let's hope that word of mouth starts to raise interest... Do you think that many people still don't recognise JC outside of Del Amitri? Take risks, Michael:) - --- "Jeffrey D. Really, I think it's of great use to go up to him and say "thanks for the gig, it was great." What musician would scorn you for that? Their income depends on the sounds that come from their fingers and vocal chords, so no matter how jaded (musician or not), people appreciate being appreciated :) I'm just jealous I'll probably never get the chance to see him play live... Sat at our table after a DA gig for over half an hour chatting about this and that (with Iain and Jon, as well, almost all other patrons had departed). We have actually spoken to him/them every time we have seen them (except in Mpls - where there were just too many people waiting for them, as many on this list can attest to). The first time I met him, I said . . . . absolutely nothing . . . my mouth hung open trying to speak, but nothing came out - and he kissed my hand(!) In the meantime, my husband is telling him "great gig" and drinking Beck's beer with him. Each time after the first meeting, he has known us on sight and sat around or chatted. Don't know if the years have changed him at all, but during the DA years, he was very congenial and approachable. So many great stories . . so many great memories. If you liked the music, go up and say "Hey! Liked the show!" just like you would any other musician's show that you might have caught. If you don't tell the performer that you enjoyed the show, you're telling them that you didn't like the show by disappearing after the show. At least that's how *I* feel. Everytime that I go up and say something, we become "acquaintances", which has turned into friends in some cases. So, go up and say "hi". They really do appreciate it. You really don't have to fall all over yourself.... Just say "Great job!"...
