The Del Amitri frontman failed to appear at Perth District Court to face a charge of speeding at an accident blackspot on the A9. Currie, 41, of Somerset Place, Glasgow, is accused of driving near the Ballinluig junction in Perthshire at 61mph, when the limit is 50mph. He was allegedly caught by speed camera on 26 May. Hit singles He was unable to pay a fixed penalty fine because he already has nine points on his licence and could be subject to disqualification. He was sent an official letter asking him to respond personally to the complaint against him but failed to do so when the case was called. The arrest warrant was issued by Justice of the Peace Eve Forrest. Glasgow-based Del Amitri enjoyed about a dozen top 30 singles, including Nothing Ever Happens and Always The Last To Know.
