This is my first posting to OV. I have been lurking for a while, learning more and more about Del Amitri. They became one of my favourite bands about a year ago, when listen to tape with mixed music that I got from a friend. I have a couple of questions that I hope that you Del freaks can answer: 1) One favourite song is "Drowned On Dry Land". Is this official available somewhere? Single B-side or something? 2) On Del's homepage there is a very small video clip from The World's Largest Block Party, Chicago, IL July 17, 1999. Is this show available somewhere, officially or for a trade? Video or audio doesn't matter. It seems like a great show! It is available on the live Del Amitri video "No Better Location". Which is an official release with the Hatful Of Rain video collection. It's performed in the middle of Be My Downfall. 2) Again, this is not officially available in any form. But copies, both video & Audio) are out there for trading purposes! - -Darren >---- Original Message ---- >From: bsven@hotmail.com >To: oppositeview@smoe.org >Subject: RE: OV: Questions >Date: Wed, 31 May 2006 17:06:42 +0000 > >>Hi! >>This is my first posting to OV. >>I have been lurking for a while, learning more and more about Del >Amitri. >> >>They became one of my favourite bands about a year ago, when listen >to tape >>with mixed music that I got from a friend. >> >>I have a couple of questions that I hope that you Del freaks can >answer: >> >>1) One favourite song is "Drowned On Dry Land". Evening, can you give me any information on the 'Waking Up' track which can be found on the video link on the web site. It obviously must be some sort of cover. Many thanks. Regards Robert. Waking Up is another unreleased track, and it is a Justin original. I'm assuming it was recorded properly, but am not sure. It started showing up in live shows in '98 I believe. - -Darren >---- Original Message ---- >From: rjh.delboy@btinternet.com >To: oppositeview@smoe.org >Subject: RE: OV: Waking Up! >Date: Wed, 31 May 2006 20:35:45 +0100 (BST) > >>Evening, can you give me any information on the 'Waking Up' track >which can be found on the video link on the web site. I can TOO! Chuckle. Sorry - I couldn't resist. I DO so enjoy reading about the diverse talents of Dels fans from around the world. And if I really put some thought into It, I bet I could come up with one-two more self promotable items of interest.
