I have a feeling I've heard that song before, maybe on one of the live performances w/ With Strings Attached? In any case, I love the tune and the guitar solo. Can't wait to hear more. p.s. Wilco is worth checking out by the way; they've got a new-yet-timeless kind of sound somehow. I adore the new song and can't wait for the new album. A typical Currie classic - words that get you thinking about what they really mean, sounds like a soft ballad and then the kick-ass guitar comes in. I like it. Then again that's the frame of mind I always approach Justin's songs. It's hard to be impartial when they've been with me since they played Nothing ever happens on Pebill Mill at one. I can't right a great commentary as I have only listened to it once or twice whilst I've been doing other tasks, so I haven't had chance to take to the lyrics or the mad bit at the end. I did however listen to that track that was on Radio (something) when he did the buttoned up [or whatever it was called] tour. I ADORE, the track 'No, Surrender Those lyrics send a chill down my spine and remind me of the affect one of their B-sides 'Another letter home' had on me. I love the tone and the observations and the solemness of it all, but as with all depressing songs of the Del's I find it uplifting, it's like the song is saying this is how it could be for you and this is how it is for others. I love the tracks that adjust my ways of thinking. Now I'm going to listen to it again. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2006 09:21:47 +1000 (EST) From: Michael Holt Subject: OV: New tracks Each of us will make up our own minds as to the merit of otherwise of the new material. Personally I think the sound of Justin's voice is like warm, dark honey. If some of these are what were rejected then I don't want to even begin to imagine what the CD will like because the endorphin overload will leave me perpetually comatose in languid lyrical pleasure.... Sorry... home sick and bored shitless. Take care, Michael:) ____________________________________________________ On Yahoo!7 Messenger - Make free PC-to-PC calls to your friends overseas. http://au.messenger.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2006 00:36:21 +0100 From: "Jane Armstrong" Subject: RE: OV: new Justin song Oooh! It does say it's a provisional booking, but I do hope this comes off. It would be nice to see JC south of the border for a change. This is quite a well known festival - three weeks of arts events.
