Hello to all...I have been reading the discussions regarding Justin's solo project and I, too, am really anxious to hear it! I will buy it as soon as it becomes available. Here is my off topic question, and I hope some of you musical geniuses (sp) can help me! The band Rancid was on yesterday morning on the television (my teenager...nuff said) and they were playing a song called Ruby Soho...is this a remake? I swear I think it is either a Clash or Ramones song. Maybe Rancid has just been around a lot longer than I knew of and I have heard this before by them, but I could almost swear that its a cover. I've looked on the Internet but cannot find anything to back up my belief. Anyone know the answer? I'd appreciate it! Thanks a bunch! And you can e-mail me off list so as not to bug anyone else about my un-Del question if you like! This might sound like an stupid question, but is there any way we can at least hear some SAMPLES of JC's record? Even super-low-bitrate, scratchy realmedia streams, just something to help me believe that 'Belong Belong' is behind me and we can go back to some good ol' fashioned acoustic melancholy like we do best.... Someone out there who has the record - go on, please, you know you want to! Rob ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jan 2006 10:25:17 -0700 From: "Ted Lehman" Subject: OV: Titface? It's funny how things have changed in 11 years! I must have called that number a dozen times prior to Twisted being released! A&M wasn't the greatest at marketing DA, but at least we had that leading up to the release. Cheers, Jack ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jan 2006 14:36:03 -0800 (PST) From: Dave Subject: OV: No label yet means no advance listening I think the reason that Justin doesn't want people to hear the album yet is because he doesn't have a record deal wrapped up. If Justin has labels interested in this album, that interest might diminish (or disappear) if they learn that it's all over the internet already for free. Yes, the core die-hard fans (those of us here on OV) will gladly buy the offical released version, but there are a large number of people out there who would never buy something they already got for free. That's potential sales that might not become actual sales - and the smaller the label, the bigger the concern becomes. We must remain patient. We've been reassured that it WILL come out, we can only hope it's sooner rather than later. ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V8 #18 *********************************
