These days quite a lot of the time the sharing of stuff over the internet has the opposite effect of what it used to have, and can often help the level of awareness of an Artist/Band. But I guess it's all up to Justin. Alison, what about we have a whip round and then you use the cash to take Justin out for a pint or 7, and then ask him if he'll quickly record a few of the new tunes with his acoustic on to a portible recorder and then bung them on cd exclusively for all his loyal fans that have stuck by him all these years and kept him in the life he's become acustomed to all these years hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe I'd do the same for him with my tunes Tee hee hee Oh I noticed a few people asked if I was still playing guitar, and so to answer, yes I am, not sure if I mentioned the band NEMO that I'm in (shameless plug warning!!), but yeah, if you want a listen you can get a few of our tracks from www.geocities.com/nemotheband/mp3.html and our full website is at www.geocities.com/nemotheband Paul - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alison Bellach" To: Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2006 7:25 PM Subject: Re: OV: Re: track listing downloading > One reason why I don't think we should share the disc, personally, is that > Justin made me swear a very great huge oath before he sent it to me that I > WOULD NOT make copies for everyone. There's little in my life I can hold this much anticiapation for (which doesn't mean there's little in my life, it just means I usually resolve my wants quickly) Just as a long shot though, as well as releasing it via whatever routes Justin is going to, what would the chances of us paying for a prieview or early edition, I know Martin Stephenson circualtes a lot of material through his fanbase as long as money makes it back to him. I'd happily pay #5 for a burnt CD directlt to Justin, without any need for inlay and all that gumph, it goes straight onto my Ipod anyway. I'd more than likely buy it in the shops too, just because that's what I'm like. Sad, but fair. But is this CD worth hearing for me, I wonder? Is it Justin with an acoustic guitar, going back to good old Del Amitri roots, putting together perfect tunes with perfect lyrics? Or is it electronical? Alison or anyone out there who's got the CD ... could you please tell me (or all of us) what kind of music there is on the CD? 'cos if it's electronical stuff, I really don't mind waiting a few months longer. I'll buy the album anyway, because it's Justin, but well ... I will not suffer of knowing that there's new Del Amitri-esque stuff out there and I can't hear it. :-) Dirk ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Jan 2006 09:22:19 +0000 From: "Joe Brady" Subject: RE: OV: What's this fuzz about the solo CD all about, anyway? :) Hi Dirk. From what I heard at the last Misery Gig, the new songs are ones that del fans will love. There are a few piano lead songs with fantastic guitar solo's with lyrics regarding life, love and death. Very much a more soulful reflective sound to it , In parts it almost sounds like The Beatles.(Yes that good) You won't be disappointed. Just wish the bugger would get the record out now!
