["Paul Hancock" Subject: OV: RFDA (NDC) I've flipped for a British singer-songwriter named Imogen Heap. Her third album (counting Frou Frou's one album as her 2nd), Speak For Yourself, topped my list of the best albums of last year. I've seen her twice since discovering her music in October and can't recommend her more highly. If she comes to your town, her performance (solo w/keyboards, computer and a really cool instrument called an mbira) is stunning stuff. Last year I was also knocked out by Tina Dico's 3rd Danish album, In the Red, which is finally getting U.S. and U.K. release this month. The lastest from Swing Out Sister and Tanita Tikaram were also high on my list. You can read my annotated top ten (plus 20 more) at http://billsmusicblog.blogspot.com/. Look for the post "Best cds of 2005." Thanks for starting up some music discussion on here, I still get excited every time a Del Amitri song appears in my iTunes shuffle (which is often). Here's hoping for something of substance from Justin and his mates soon. Cheers. - William Kates ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Jan 2006 17:28:40 -0600 From: "Leah Schenkenberg" Subject: RE: OV: RFDA Ray is great. Also worth checking out is the singer/songwriter who open for him on his winter tour, Brandi Carlisle. - -- I rarely add anything to the OV but it is time I mention something as we are sharing music. As I am sure, many of you know him...but I have run across many who don't....I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Ray LaMontagne (la-mon-tain). This man puts his heart and soul into all the music he shares......Visit the web site, check him out, go to interact, download some music, sit back in wonder, those of you who have, know what I am talking about... _www.raylamontagne.com_ (http://www.raylamontagne.com) Alex, still a major del fan ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Jan 2006 23:30:05 -0000 From: "Paul Hancock" Subject: Re: OV: Re: Currie track listing? is there any way of downloading the album? - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Monday, January 16, 2006 6:36 PM Subject: Re: OV: Re: Currie track listing? > In a message dated 1/13/2006 4:01:03 PM Mountain Standard Time, > Fredhic1@aol.com writes: > > does anyone have a track listing for Justin's > solo CD? i have a copy from a friend but it doesn't have a track listing. > > > > You WILL pay and you must suffer. ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V8 #11 *********************************
