I don't think I will ever have the means to travel to Europe but if I do, Jane, you and Nigel and I and whomever else are definitely hitting the pubs! So, Nigel, are you gonna hop over here? ;) Elizabeth - ----Original Message Follows---- From: "Jane Armstrong" To: "'Elizabeth Osborne'" , Subject: RE: OV: Just Thinkin Date: Mon, 11 Jul 2005 16:47:18 +0100 How strange Lizo - I don't remember falling out with you or any negative posts - though I have had some major fallings out in the early days of this list. My memories are always of how much I enjoy hearing from you!! And as to the other fallings out, well we've all kissed and made up many years ago. I've met quite a few people from other lists and made some good friends - even go away to France every year with a bunch from one list - but no-where else have I met so many great people with whom I can really relate. I've spent many a Thursday night in my chatroom with fellow OV'ers chewing the fat. Shame that died a death - but I started working Thursday evening for a while. Maybe we should try and resurrect that one day. And we've had at least two intercontinental weddings through this list too! But most of all I've had the good fortune to meet in person OV'ers from across the world - the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, Wales (OK so the last three don't really count) and if Justin and Iain never pick up a guitar again, I know we will keep in touch (albeit sporadically). Oh and Nigel's a good catch! Good luck with him, Russell not at all bad either! :-))) OK I'll stop now before I get mushy.... (Romy & Michelle) I have been on this list since 1999 or 2000...it wasn't until then that I met Jane and Nigel and realized that this list, unlike the Neil/CH lists, was made up of many long-time friends and acquaintences, who happened to love the Dels and just happened to become friends (even though many of us have never officially "met") and, therefore, the posts were not just about the band or certain gigs or songs, but about a sort of family...people who appreciate the same AND different types of things at the same time and who can share posts about how a certain song affects them, about hearing a Dels song on the muzak at work, on an obscure radio station, or, as with me, at happy hour just last week! Darlin', THAT is why I am still on this list. There is no other one quite like it, and I've made such amazing friends because of Opposite View. It's great to see so many of my friends on OV land coming out to play! As as aside, Justin allegedly made a lot of money when he sold his share of a radio station a few years back (at the time Sharleen Spittari from Texas was reported to have made #6 million on her share - though I don't think Justin got quite that much!!) so maybe that's why he doesn't feel the need to rush out albums and tour for us.
