I never took to The Devlins but I completed my collections of Gary Clark in his various guises Danny Wilson/King L and solo after seeing King L support the Dels and became an avid followrs of The Candyskins after doing likewise. So who is everyone watching live these days? I've seen some of my favoured old punk groups recently - Undertones, Buzzcocks, Damned and Stiff Little Fingers - each of whom still put on fantastic shows. Caught The Tubes three times on their UK tour and got to become a drinking buddy with Fee Waybill who put on the best rock theater show around soon, any group wanting to make a live impact would do well to watch and learn from the masters. Next Saturday is Elvis Costello - can't wait - and I've just found out he's also coming to Cardiff in May. Also caught Welsh groups Stereophonics, Manics and Feeder over the past few weeks and will also be seeing Athlete (what a magnificent new album) and Idlewild shortly. My big embarrasment will be taking my kids to see X-Factor Live in a couple of weeks - oh dear! ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V7 #14 *********************************
