I've seen him a couple of times and he always gives a great show. Debbie, you might like to see this article about his recent chart entry. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/3503959.stm "Ageing post-punk band The Alarm have scored a top 30 UK chart hit - with a stunt disguising themselves as an unknown younger group. Recording under the pseudonym The Poppyfields, they are at number 28 after selling more than 4,000 copies of their 1970s-style punk single 45RPM. In its accompanying video The Alarm are replaced by teenage Chester rockers The Wayriders who mime along to the song. Singer Mike Peters said it was done to prove how much image affected sales. "We decided we would do something where it was judged purely on its own musical value," Peters, 44, told BBC News Online. I'm thinking this would be a great disc to set up a CD Tree with. If you think you can record it, but can't get it to CD... let me know, and we'll work on it. If an internet recording is all we can do, it's all we can do. Recording it with nice, clean radio reception would be preferable... Anybody out there with that capability??? >---- Original Message ---- >From: a.lumeyuko@blueyonder.co.uk >To: oppositeview@smoe.org >Subject: RE: OV: UDS >Date: Tue, 9 Mar 2004 17:55:40 +0000 > >>Oh forgot about the time difference for some,Its a Glasgow radio >show http: >>//www.clyde1.com/ and here's a time convertor site, which might be >helpful >>!http://www.journeymart.com/tools/Time.asp ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Mar 2004 19:25:38 -0000 From: "Jane Armstrong" Subject: RE: OV: UDS Surely recoding it from the internet is likely to give a better quality recording than from the radio? I use a mini disc with optical cable and usually the quality is pretty good. Though I may be able to get Radio Clyde on my Sky box - I'll have to check - in which case I can also record direct through the amp to mini disc. Whatever, I've got a reminder set and am sure I'll be one of many volunteers.
