Having no affiliation with anyone in the music industry I am happy to sum this up. ;) There are 2 issues, rights to the recordings and rights to the songs. UMG will own the rights to all recordings made then, therefore unreleased recordings will almost certainly never see the light of day at this point unless the Dels become huge again (if they ever were). However, the Dels probably own the rights to the songs and can re-record them unless their attorneys at the time stupidly allowed constraints on future recordings.
