Cosmic Rough Riders will be holding their Xmas party in one of Glasgows newest bar / venues on Tuesday, December 23rd and you are ALL invited! The venue is the Bunker Bar (193-199 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2). The fun starts at 7.30pm and the band will be performing a full live set at 10pm. Admission is free and on a first come first in basis! COSMICS NEW YEAR PARTY! Cosmic Rough Riders will be performing their first gig of the New Year when they play in Aberdeen on Friday, January 2nd. The venue is Cafi Drummonds (1 Belmont Street, Aberdeen, AB10). Admission is #5 on the door. Doors open at 8pm, also on the bill is Amy Sawyers & The Front. There was a very strange photo attached but I dont think itll come through to the list. They sent it to one of my other email addresses which I dont generally give out so not sure how they got it. But at least its some good news! Theyve got some good bands and artists on their label though Albert Lee, Steve Howe and The Hamsters to name but three, though mostly they seem to be a vehicle for Martin Taylor who I'm not familiar with. P3 have a website at www.P3music.com but there is nothing about UDS on it yet. Hi everyone, I'm confused about the "Uncle Devil Show" thing. Is the CD available now? If so, is it available in the US? If so does anybody have a link to a website where I can order it? IS is called "Terrible Beauty"? I tried Amazon and couldn't find it. Happy Holidays everyone! Shaun __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New Yahoo! Strange, or "ironic," (to pick up on the recent thread), labelmates, it would seem. But then, perhaps the label is trying to diversify with a "pop" artist. Actually, irony and sacasm seem to be about the only thing JC is interested in these days. I imagine there is a certain market for that amoung some OV'ers. Perhaps JC is consciously saving heartfelt songs about personal relationships as being the domain of Del Amitri. At this point, it kinda appears that he has nothing but disdain for such things. How about a little feedback RE everyone's take on the UDS stuff. I've spun it three times, and despite the sugar coating of melody, which seems to flow as freely as turning on a faucet, I find myself bored with JC's sacrasm. What am I missing? There surely was a good deal of effort put into the product, but personally, I find it to be a far cry from what was irresistable about the Dels circa WH, CE and Twisted. Not to mention the lack of Iain's wonderful guitar playing. It'd be a bad cover, but a great promo pic. I've been to sites that have the "world's worst album covers" and this reminds me of some of those (maybe that's where the initial photo came from). It looks guess they found some terrible album cover/band photograph/sears portrait studio shot from the 70's and just pasted Kevin & Justin over two of the people. The guy on the right looks like the original head for that body. I have a logo idea (so people will stop laughing at them), but I can't draw for sh1t. As for the record itself, I like it. It's a fun surrealistic detour for both Kevin and Justin. It may lack the depth of Del Amitri stuff, but there's nothing wrong with just having some fun. After all the crap that they've been through with their "real" projects, they must've just had a blast recording this - - it sure sounds like it. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Dec 2003 22:27:48 -0800 From: "carol huff" Subject: OV: Re: UDS cover or pic what a coincidence! just this past weekend i was on a site which linked me to another site with some of the worst album covers ever. here's the link - http://www.cenedella.com/stone/archives/000302.html scroll down and check out the country church album. carol :0) - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Monday, December 15, 2003 7:15 PM Subject: OV: UDS cover or pic > Is it supposed to be the album cover or just their first promo pic?
