I really do not mean any harm ,And if any offence is ever taken i promise i don't mean it and maybe i do forget that this goes out to so many diffrent kinds of people who might not want to read about England becoming Rugby World Cup Champions. But what does really annoys me though is when JC and he's cronies have a record to sell they come on here and get all pally but for months before we get nothing on the news front. We are supposed to jump up and down in excitment and beg for crumbs of info, Then the time we then get some news is when something is for sale and when there is money to be made, We are longterm fans of he's music and i don't expect to be treated like a dummy that watches MTV. So to anybody that i have ever upset, I'm sorry. To anybody i have bored with my bad langauge I'm sorry. But as for this whole hyped up Uncle Devil type emails we have started getting in the words of a certain JC-FUCK OFF! - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you're fed up with spam in your inbox sign for MSN 8 with it's intelligent junk e-mail filters. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 09 Dec 2003 14:18:58 +0000 From: "scott wallace" Subject: RE: OV: Re: RE: RE: RE: oppositeview-digest V5 #170 Couldn't agree more. Maybe now that we're actually venting about it they'll change their ways. I mean the diary on the site was the easiest way to provide news, they didn't have to talk to us direct, they didn't have to answer questions, but still that was too difficult. I'm glad for actually gettin news, but that doesn't excuse the fact we were trated like pricks. A judge last week gave NYU, owner of the West Fourth Street location, permission to evict the club, which owes back rent of about $190,000.. NYU said in a statement that the club made an unacceptable 11th-hour proposal to pay some 10% of what they owe today, and another 10% of what they owe next week. Deejays, performers and other fans of the Bottom Line, a longtime fixture on Fourth Street, have rallied round to raise money for the club, and have said they hope to find another home for it. NYU says it plans to use the space for classrooms. Barring a last-minute reprieve, the Greenwich Village club will be evicted within five days. The Bottom Line had fallen $185,000 behind in rent. NYU said the venue's $11,250 monthly rent is half its market value; the school also cited a need for classroom space. "We never wanted to go to court," NYU said in a statement. "But it is simply not right to have a not-for-profit educational institution subsidizing a for-profit entertainment business." Sirius Satellite Radio has offered to pay the $185,000 in rent, contingent on NYU granting the club a long-term lease. AT&T and Springsteen have also pledged funds. OK, he's been a nag, but what happens now reminds me of a witch hunt: Someone says something offending against Joe, and one moment later there are more people hunting him down, referring to the first one who said something against Joe. That's not the way we should act on this mailing list. That's not the way we should at all, no matter if on a mailing list or in real life. Even if Joe deserved it, I don't think we should make fun of him (or of anyone else on this list). So please stop it. Thanks.
