I wish you'd been around about 3 years ago when this list was a poppin', you would have had a blast... I've never had such fun on a discussion group! There was lots of chat, tons of discussion, and good friends to be made as well. Someone told me that the average life span for an active discussion list is about 2 1/2 years and this one has already gone far past that in lifespan, which is to its credit... I keep hoping that something will happen to stir up the activity again, like a Del Amitri tour. No wonder a friend once said I was a Relentless Optimist! LOL! Susan From: "Claire O'Rourke" Subject: [none] Hi Robert Welcome to the list. I've found most people on here really friendly and helpful and always willing to help you with any music questions Dels and non Dels related they can as soon as they can! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Oct 2003 15:49:41 +0000 From: angela hughes Subject: OV: Unlikely Your are being rather optimistic....think the word solo maybe a hint. Thanks for the laugh, Robert..."he's known that for years"...oh my. The last thing I heard about Justin was the Uncle Devil Show and I haven't heard anything about that in a while. Anyone here found the CD for sale anywhere, yet? I haven't even looked in a while, though I loved the 2 mp3s I've heard so far. What was that other group he was playing in? Button Up? Before MTV, before Mandy Moore, before the Carson Daly show...they opened for equally obscure bands in college auditoriums. I've probably seen them 6 or 7 times now since I first found them at age 15, but not since they've made it big. I remember my second or third show, he signed a CD for a friend that couldn't be there and said "that's so cool you even know who we are!" They're all extremely short, though. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-oppositeview@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oppositeview@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Kmjmac64@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2003 6:37 PM To: oppositeview@smoe.org Subject: OV: try this I think of the intelligent people on this list when I listen to Switchfoot. I've been listening to them for, hmmmmm, 3 years. Saw them live Feb. 03 and will see them again the end of Oct. Looking very forward to it. Some of their stuff vaguely reminds me of the dels at times. That's probably what made me think of those on this list. Have you heard the new cd yet? It's good.
