On another day, and with a little luck, it could have gone your way but it wasn't to be, it was our time and our turn. I'm sure your team are good enough to come good next year. Good Luck for it anyway. Hope you enjoyed the visit to our city and that fantastic stadium, regardless. Oh and enjoy Rushden and Hartlepool, we'll be thinking of you on the way to West Ham and Sunderland. Marvellous! . ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 May 2003 20:38:01 +0100 From: "Joe Brady" Subject: Re: OV: Commiserations to the QPR boys Enjoy your Moment Nigel. Just realise that Cardiff City are more than a club, it's an institution. We're not one of thirteen clubs in London, we're easily the biggest of three that represent the proudest of nations. We have an identity that you can only dream about. Your club and your players did you really proud last week and have for several months. You have progressed so much in 2003 that it wouldn't surprise me at all if you were champions next year. It was no classic but that was the toughest, tensest match probably both of us have ever seen and it was a shame somebody had to lose. Your fans and team earned a tremendous amount of respect from ours. Ultimately though, even though you were losers on the day, you've spent all your life supporting a Premier/First Division team in a dip. I'd argue Cardiff are bigger and better than you could ever hope to be but we've had to stick by them through 20 years of lower league football ... and we have. You have to have been there to know and understand that, you haven't so wouldn't. Be loud, be proud of your efforts. We'll be fine and prosper in Div One. I have no doubts about that and as much as I've hated him for many reasons for a long time, your boss Holloway was gracious, said the same and went up in my eyes. We lost the play-offs last year and came back this year bigger, better and stronger when it mattered. Hopefully your lads will do the same. Look forward to crossing paths again ... at a higher level. Fondest Regards Nigel ------------------------------ End of oppositeview-digest V5 #79 *********************************
